Porn is pretty boring and underwhelming to me. Very rarely are they arousing and it's usually only if it's a real couple and you can tell they're enjoying it. I do not masturbate very often and feel arousal infrequently. I like sex and have a sexuality though. Onlyfans, I do not understand why someone would pay for that or how people fall into these pornographic+parasocial relationships with someone who doesn't know or care about them. I don't say any of this judgmentally, I know we're all different, but they're entirely unrelatable issues. Porn addiction is just not something I'm capable of even if I tried, but I hear about it very often now and it's always teenage boys and men that are the victims of it. I see Dr. K videos talking about porn addiction and it's mostly framed from a heterosexual male perspective. I don't know any women who get addicted to masturbation and porn to the point it leads to a decreased quality of life.

I have been wondering what women growing depressed/overstimulated by the internet involves. Possibly unrealistic beauty standards leading to body dysmorphia? Like losing sight of what a normal butt or breasts are supposed to look like on a healthy adult body, due to comparing yourself to countless beautiful models with a combination of rare genetics, surgery and photo editing. Or addiction to attention and praise? Comparing your amount of likes to what others get, feeling inadequate if another person is getting more likes on their selfies even though it's an arbitrary dopamine button.

What do you think?

If my gf is any indication, the female equivalent is watching Anime, Supernatural, and the Vampire Diaries. I just can't compete, although I do have a set of pretty impressive canines if I do say so myself.

I must just say, I never understood the attraction of OnlyFans, until the girls started giving d*ck ratings. Then I was like "wow, $10 a month for 46 pictures and 3 videos totally seems worth it now."

Edit: this was a joke post, my bad if it was misconstrued.

In a way I can kinda understand onlyfans if the supplier is giving you something really specific and not just titz and ass which you can find anywhere and everywhere. However spending you're whole pay check on it I do not understand. Or actually believing these chicks care about you instead of the numbers to your credit card.

I like fem dom porn but the majority of it is really cringy and stupid. However I am not in the financial position to waste my money on that shit.

lol I used to read yaoi fanfiction in high school everyday. Does that count as a porn addiction? :ahhha:

Possibly one reason is that for men apparently we are more aroused by visual stimuli.

Im addicted to the internet in general...just endlessly browsing through Youtube/Reddit/here/Newssources/
Messengers/Secondhand-Apps.

I don't watch porn tho - for me it's too fake and over-the-top. I also don't really understand the popularity of onlyfans when you can also watch porn for free but okay...whatever floats someones boat.

I don't use "social media" (other than occasionally Reddit without posting) that's why I don't really fall into the trap of comparing myself (only to my past self).

But the internet seems highly addictive to me even without watching people getting it on or posting about random stuff - just the reading of it all could fill my whole day.

I'm sure there are women around there that had their time, beiing addicted to the new toys they get. And i've met some that needed sex in any possible way just so they can walk normaly, no kidding. And such mess up with hormones can be much worse with females, cause they can come as much as they want, and it's very real to never be realy satisfied, no matter what. It can be a problem, a funny one from my point of view, but still big one if it's on you. Have seen that, but was temporarely one. And really do understand nymphos after this. It comes from your brain, or hormones, something very strange, but deffinately not normal, and it don't makes you feel good, for real. With all of that happeing to the body, porn is the least they will try to stop that need, just to stop thinking about it.
With man, maybie if you are lazy porn can be addictive, but no way doing it all the time, or wanting to do it all the time, day and night. Still wil need some rest or your budy will simply give up to recharge :) unless you want somethin inside too :)

It should be social media attention addiction. It's the same form of parasocial relationship where the only real input you get is upvotes and vapid comments but it has the same lizard brain pull on women as porn does on men. It provides a similar infinite stream of positive stimulation without having to do much of anything. The difference is that porn can't be a hater, while people on social media can and will be, so there's always a spoon of crap in the honey jar that you have to swallow.

I knew a girl who was a self-proclaimed nymphomaniac and she told me at length about how she was definitely sex-addicted though it didn't seem like it bothered her much. A lot of the porn she was into was mostly just drawings and not actual movies though. She was also a constant purveyor of 4chan so she knew a lot of terms that I didn't even know myself.

You hit the nail on the head with body dysmorphia. Obsession with social media and projecting a "perfect" online persona is a more common issue for women than porn addiction. I'm sure some women get hooked on porn, just like how they get addicted to video games and do all of the nasty trolling and 4chan nonsense that men do. They're just less common and less public about it.

But yeah... There's a reason vanity-driven social games like IMVU and Second Life are dominated by a female audience, while simultaneously surrounded by drama concerning catfishing and "the truth" about some random girl who was popular in the community.

I am friends with a girl like this. She is in an open/poly relationship in a big city and has a few boyfriends. She gets off 3 or 4 times a day sometimes. I don't judge her for it or anything she is a good friend and isn't hurting anyone. But like you said about your friend there doesn't seem to be this negative drawback for her like men who feel depressed about their masturbation cycle.

As a degenerate coomer I'd just like to say one of the appeals of OF is "exclusivity". There are thousands of girls on OF and not all of them have content that can be found for free, so your brain kind of gets tricked into thinking their content is more "special" than free porn, it isn't of course , but a truly porn addicted brain can't discern that.

Thank you for this insight. That is interesting.

I struggle to wrap my head around people's relationships to twitch streamers as well. I watch streams but have never donated.

I certainly have the potential for this addiction. I love sharing clothes, meals, haircuts, or other little things with close friends. It's addictive giving and receiving compliments that are pretty meaningless. I can't imagine the overwhelming rush of having hundreds or even thousands of people doing this to you on instagram or something. Even the like button on SS has potential to be addictive, but I hope the rush of a red notification never changes the authenticity of my posts

The only thing that ever interested me about it was understanding the "why", the "problem", the abnormal behavior and what people wrote or how they could think that way.
The obsession or fascination, the fact that people think pornography is "real" instead of acting. I had an ex who thought it was real and he was so convinced of that, like many people are. That's the sad part. A lot of people are obsessed with it and don't realize that it's not an actual depiction of reality.

The whole thing is mask for women's shoe sales. It costs too much to buy a lot of the shoes so in order to calm down, women watch the more tasteful porn flicks. (You laugh !!!...........I am laughing too)

Agreed. I always imagine it'll be hot, but it's always such a huge turn-off to me. Slapping people, spitting on each other. Other--to me--distasteful stuff. I'll stick with occasional erotic stories or Nancy Friday confession (whether true or imagined). I'd rather spin a fantasy around someone in my own mind instead of taking in someone else's idea is of what is hot. My imagination is a blend of truth and fantasy and always does the trick. Then, after, I feel ashamed I wasted such energy and time on that project. Ugh. Hormones.
