I fell in love with my psychiatrist and she roasted me about it. For some reason it was soooo painful it felt like I went through post traumatic stress or something, is that even possible? All of my past problems came back and haunts me now again with this extreme pain of heart break... My body felt all numb and shit and I tried to kill myself by hanging but the rope hurt me too much.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm not sure what exactly she did in response to your feelings but it sounds like she was unnecessarily cruel about it and that's not okay. Speaking as someone who's fallen for their therapist too, that behaviour is unprofessional and you would be within your rights to at least file a complaint about this. My therapist was nothing but kind and understanding about it and we talked it out and afaik a therapist should either do that and if of the opinion that they can no longer provide you proper professional help, they should refer you to someone else. But they should not 'roast' you for it.

Why would u even have a psychiatrist i have one coz im forced to and yesterday she told me the only way i can get a woman to touch me is by hiring a prostitute.
it's not uncommon to feel in love therapist . it is important to know that it is her job to listen to you, to show empathy with you , open hidden side of your personality . But it doesn't mean that she is your girl friend . A good thing is her treatment were probably effective because you feel love now .

shes an amazing person, im not kidding. I'm just too pathetic, because I'm mentally ill and just plain stupid... she didn't roast me in a horrible way... but it was a bit mean, but understandable...

She said at this point their's nothing i could do and i need an escort then she continued saying that their mostly street girls too expansive to hire and that they care only for money so she may be able to act nice to u i think she was just trying to help it's just my reality i understand she was being as nice as possible i just couldn't bare hear those words

She should have given you the we can't date patients thing and left it at that! Did she congratulate you for putting yourself out there at least???
Love??? You're doing better than me I won't go down that highway. See it as a win, get a new therapist and maybe try with a peer but don't beat yourself up about it:)
I can't bear those words. As I just said to someone else find a new therapist.
Anyone can find a mate if they put it all out there. It's very tiring all you have to do for a relationship, there's the rub. Wish you well and hope things get better.

I used to fall in love with anyone that showed me attention as a youngster (9-15 ish), but I quickly learned that most don't like it so I learnt to hide my feelings. I now don't let people close to me for fear my neediness becomes obvious

I've never fallen in love with a professional, but as someone who's been on psychiatric wards where there seems to be no shortage of young attractive women, including the doctors at times, I can see how this could happen

I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you. Having romantic and sexual feelings toward therapists/other mental health professionals is incredibly common, and it's unacceptable she responded in that way. Please find another psychiatrist or PM me if you have questions
