Protesting the conditions of an inhumane world

We've all heard of the "classic" methods, such as SN, hanging or suicide by gunshot. However, there are tons of other methods out there that people have used... the possibilities are endless. Do any of you have some favorite methods? They can be ideas, or methods that have actually been done before.
Here are some of my favorites:
In 1854, George Towler of Leeds, England jumped into a furnace full of molten iron. All that was recovered was a piece of his charred spine.
In 1877, George Perks of England proclaimed "Where that will go, I will follow" before getting in the way of a steamroller and getting flattened.
In 2002, Richard Sumner of Wales handcuffed himself to a tree and threw the key just out of reach. He died from exposure to the elements after four days.
In 2008, Gerald Mellin of the United Kingdom tied one end of a rope to a tree and the other end around his neck. He then got in his car and floored it, and his head flew off.
What unusual methods have you heard of?
