What are your fav comfort movies?

I love Spirited Away, Tales of the Princess Kaguya, My neighbor Totoro and everything from Ghibli studios, they're really wholesome (except grave of fireflies. Please no)
I'm not a huge anime fan, besides Ghibli all that I watched was Sakura Card Captor, Inu Yasha and Madoka Magica, but I love those too, specially Madoka Mágica

Anyway

Those movies are my family lol they're always there for me when I'm not ok

I watched Spirited Away yesterday for the bazillion time and I'll be watching Tales of the Princess Kaguya again today before ctb
when marnie was there nausica of the valley of the wind GIF

Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974, Godzilla, and I guess Marvel movies to keep my mind distracted from reality. Whenever I feel terrible, I always try to find a new horror movie to watch.

Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Thor movies and other Marvel stuff. I love big budget fantasy and adventure movies because they help me to escape my horrible reality. Real life is so boring to me, at least when I watch these movies I feel like I'm on some sort of adventure myself.

Pretty much any zombie movie(with the exception of warm bodies , world war z,and zombie land, those are trash). I don't know why but I find zombie movies comforting. Maybe because they remind me that shit could be a lot worse. :ahhha:

resident evil movie series, i am legend, night of the living dead, dawn of the dead (both the new and old), shawn of the dead, #alive, train to busan, 28 days/weeks later, cooties, planet terror, 30 days of night( zombie vampire hybrids included) ,The Crazies, rec series (1-3). Also Quarantine(american version of rec 1) never fails to make me laugh. So bad it's actually good.

Would highly recommend shawn of the dead and cooties even if you aren't such a big horror movie fan. They're hilarious.

There's probably many more but these are the ones that come to mind atm.

Yeah, I've seen Ed Wood like 20 times, he was perfect in that movie!
The original Plan 9 was pretty fun to watch as well, it's such a dumpster fire but in a fun way xD

I'm a great lover of studio Ghibli's animated films too, especially spirited away, my absolute favorite one and Howl's moving castle!<3<3As for movies I love Alfred Hitchcock's Notorius. And many others because I love film art. I'm a cinephile ... movies were the only thing that kept me alive for so long. Now depression has taken me away this joy also.
One of my favorites movies is Jaco Van Dormael's Mr Nobody, one of my favorite directors.another one recently that I loved is Silver Linings playbook.

I find comfort in watching things that poke fun at this culture in this sick society.
Natural born killers is over the top, but so is this culture, so it's the only way they could possibly convey the message to the people who need to see it and entertain the rest of us.
A culture that glorifies pain and suffering and every other negative human experience.
Same goes for Fight Club
Anyone seeking to end the function of this corrupt society.

Sometimes I like to watch very dark, gritty, low budget movies depicting real life in the UK or anywhere...
Nil by Mouth I saw again recently and forgot what a piece of art it is, it shows how life is at the bottom of the pit, not like fuckin eastenders and coronation street that claim to show what realitys like. When really they are teaching people how the government want them to behave... Like closet sadistic pieces of shit.... All those soap opera's ever have going on is who's shagging who behind who's back.

I love Gasper Noe, he knows what this world is.

I miss my films, I used to watch 3 a day but this year due to becoming very embittered and having racing thoughts I can barely manage 1.
The only positives in my shit life were taking some ket and shrooms and losing myself in a good movie.
