you might have already heard of/watched it and i guess it isn't mainly about mental illness & trauma, but i found that neon genesis evangelion addresses the topic quite well. i wouldn't say it's for everyone though

The 2014 film: Elephant Song is good (sad though) if you enjoy mystery type films.

The game OMORI is definitely one of my top 3 if not my top number 1, it covers the topics of suicide, depression, forgiveness, and guilt. Every character is written in such a way that you can relate and connect with them and they all feel realistic. I highly recommend you watch a playthrough of it, or buy and play it yourself.
