Hi guys, I've been lurking this forum for a while now and thought I had everything down before attempting to ctb on Saturday. I hung a ratchet tie down over the door knob with a slip knot, everything was really tight and the door frame supported everything. Made my notes, put my earphones in, had the ratchet behind my neck closer to the left side, and pretty quickly completely knocked out with no pain. I woke up a little less 2 minutes later (the song is 1:57 and it was on it's last seconds).

What could I have done wrong? I managed to get fully unconscious, the rope was still tight around my neck, I basically laid down belly down and had my head up about 5-6 inches over the floor. Everything should have worked. I feel fine (no brain damage, although I do have a popped blood vessel on the inside of my left eye that's annoying). I'm going to try again tonight, but I'm worried for another failed attempt and the reality of having brain damage actually set in (something I never thought about before).

Thanks for reading.

Crap, this is what I am planning on doing. Did you face the door or away from it? I once tried by facing away from the door and the rope loosened

I laid parallel to the closed door if that makes sense because there was enough tension. The ratchet was completely secure and it was still really tight around my neck when I woke up.

What I don't get is why I "woke up" if I was completely out consciously without any pain.

So when you passed out you were laying on your stomach with your head suspended in the air by the rope? When you woke up was your head on the ground?

When you woke up you were in the same position? Exactly? I'm confused. Nothing hurt? Nothing broke? Were you in pain? I'm trying to visualize this.

Maybe in your unconsciousness you rolled into the wrong position?
