• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

How do you live with this shit? I am on meds, but they do nothing. I have had them for last 10 years. Last time I had one was few days ago. I was lucky this time, I didnt hit myself bad.

The comedian Bud Abbott had epilepsy his whole life, he never drove a car once in his 80 years

I had an epileptic seizure back in October or November because I didn't care for taking my meds at all, dumb mistake I know. Taking 200mg of Lamictal every day seems to keep them away. It's unfortunate that none of the seizures have managed to kill me in my sleep though.

I am happy lamictal works for you, I am taking it as well, but it has not prevented these. Last year I had three of them (seizures). One happened while I was enjoying my time at my friend's place. Of course, he panicked and called ambulance.

Is your doctor aware that the meds don't help you?
I always feel ashamed and like a burden whenever people around me have to call the ambulance.

It seems like, only thing doctors do, increase dosage and nothing else. Also, I lose my conciousness when it happens.

My father was epileptic; he was hit by a car as a kid and that led to brain damage and seizures for the rest of his life. He was on meds, but still had a few seizures each year. I had to know how to handle that since I was preschool-aged. How to call 911, tell them what meds he was on, etc.

I started having seizures myself in July, but they're only in my sleep. I don't have to worry about falling and getting hurt that way, but I still fuck up my ribs and back and bite the sides off of my tongue when they happen. My GP referred me to a neurologist in August; I still haven't been called back about that yet.

I also bite my tongue quite often when it happens, healing that wound in mouth can take even month (fully) It is not fun. I once fractured my front tooth when I hit my face. Very dangerous, indeed....

Mine also happen only when I'm unconscious. Fortunately I still have my tongue, but my arms and legs can hurt for days.
@DivineSpark btw were you given some kind of syringe or whatever that emergency medicine is that someone around you can apply to you whenever you have a seizure? The ambulance doctors were pretty surprised to hear that I don't have anything like that.
