My current planned method is to take a maximum dose of sleeping medicine in the bath, and then once I feel myself start falling asleep, to lie face down in a bathtub full of water. How effective and likely to succeed do y'all thin this would be? Thanks!

Is it a gigantic bath? Unless you really have a lot of meds and a lot of alcohol, and a huge bathtub, you will automatically just wake up with your survival instinct.

No, it's a pretty small tub. And I wasn't planning on using alcohol at all.

While I fantasized about this method, I just think it is very difficult to execute.

What if I try to only fill it up enough to cover my face? Like, so that my head does't float up?

I dont think so, surely your body would realise you are drowing and due to survival instinct make you wake up and emerge out. I am not sure how strong those pills are though.

I once tried that and it's hard to do. Maybe you could look into shallow water blackout (SWB)? Don't know a lot about it, but there is information on it on here.

Yes, I actually did recently find that thread and have altered my plan a little using the info found there! Thanks!

I believe there is a lot of potential for failure. Always keep in mind that if you did succeed, it would be the water that kills you, not the sleeping pills. You have to be sure of many things like wether or not you would wake up once submerged or if your head will go under the water.

I second this, a tub (unless it is really enormous) just isn't big enough and unless the drugs are really potent, more than enough to knock you out and really suppress the survival instinct, your body will involuntarily do all it can to keep itself alive. :aw:

I agree with everyone's post about the tub being too small and potency of drugs in your system. Whitney Houston's and Bobbi Kristina's death were caused by accidental drowning brought on by ODing on a cocktail of drugs. Interesting read!
