Hi , i want to know if anybody ever thought about dying in a desert like death valley in California. For me it would be better than dying from hypothermia which is really bad and painful.

I say that because a few years ago i was playing golf with my friends and it was so hot and i didnt bring enough water ,on the 17th hole i fell unconscious for like 1 second but i didnt fall to the ground. I think if i would have stayed there a few more hours i would have been in a coma or die.

Im telling you it i did not hurt that much on the golf course , just discomfort until i fell unconscious for like 1 second. Its really painless i think that way of doing it , ok i was thirsty but not really painful, i see myself dying like that.

It's possible. I tried it and it started raining and I was cold.

it's actually very easy, theoretically. Death Valley isn't very humid, though, so it'd take awhile there - high humidities render our "cooling-down abilities" useless, simply put (look up "wet-bulb conditions"). heat hallucinations are always a possibility if you don't go unconscious fast enough/stay unconscious, and those can be pretty bad depending on the person and mental state. no idea if a hiker would see you in time, either.

despite all that, it's certainly a tempting method, that's for certain. the ease of it all is probably a big factor! it'd be uncomfortable depending, sure, but at least it wouldn't be painful or distressing like many other methods.

It sound like heat exhaustion or heat stroke. First aid instructions are on the wall at work. So yes, I have thought about it.

Thanks , i didnt think about humidity , maybe someplace very humid like Florida.

Each summer during heatwave, old people die in their apartment from heat stroke , if it would be painful , they would call 911 but no they don't , i think at some point its just discomfort and they fell unconscious and die. Of course im 43 year old and in good shape so i will not die that easily in my apartment even if i don't drink. That's why im thinking going in a desert of some place humid and very hot.

For me it's the opposite , i live in Canada and i hate cold , your feet and finger freeze and its very painful. In summer where i live its very hot and humid and its not painful just not comfortable. But everybody has their preference and cold could be faster at -40 it takes less than 5 minutes if you go out in t shirt and shorts.

I've thought a lot about this too. Id like to die in a hot desert. I'm in USA but a bit far from Death Valley. Wished I lived closer there.

My strategy is maybe I'll already not eat a few days when I go there. Maybe I'll bring a tent and might bring water, I'll drink it just to gradually not get thirsty right away, maybe some food just in case I run into someone they'll be less suspicious. I will exhaust myself. Find a secluded isolated spot and walk, run around, exercise,

Yeah Death Valley. There have been some recent deaths there, military even. One, Alex Lofgren, died within 4 days

Also this article about another veteran. Facebook Twitter Flipboard Email Copy Retired Marine captain found dead in Death Valley after car ran out of gas

And have you heard of Grant Brace? Wasn't even in a desert but died of thirst. That's why I said I'd exhaust myself too.

This is probably a slow and painful death as one will die of thirst. I think there are better methods than this one.

There was a book called Final Rampage, about an ex-con who killed some people after escaping from prison in Arizona---He escaped a road block, vowed never to go back to prison, many days later they found him, by a rock, a look of anguish on his dead face, the ground dug up from his convulsions, he died a tortuous death---So, don't do it

slow? I just showed the athlete died in one day (perhaps just a few hours) & he wasnt even in the desert. The military vet died within 4 days. Those were trying to survive even. Now imagine someone not trying to survive. That's quick enough for me.

Those are people trying to survive. Of course they're gonna be struggling to survive.

I've met people who've had tubes put through their throat because of attempted suicide by pills. They said it was such a horrible feeling. It was extremely uncomfortable. One person said it was the worst experience he had blah blah blah

Well a few years later I was in their position. Bullshit. Total bullshit. It didnt feel uncomfortable at all. The only thing horrible that day was the police being assholes.

Its torture, don't even think about trying to kill yourself in the desert by dying of thirst, these guy's heels were dug in the dirt, he suffered like crazy, the detective in charge of this mass murderer put the picture of his agonizing death on his desk, happy that this killer suffered horribly in his final hours

I guess some people just cant take the heat. My whole life is torture already. I've had tooth filling without anesthesia. Ive gone 7 days no food little water. Been in emergency room twice, 2nd time all bloodied. All nothing compared to the other pain in my life.

Yep i agree , cold can kill you in less than 1 minute but i dont think heat can kill you that fast even 1 hour would be very fast. Its only 1 minute of pain to set yourself free forever.

Yes , we had a high profile case here where i live , the mother of a very well known politician , the fire alarm went off during the night so she want outside as quick as possible.

But this is one of those door where you can exit but cannot enter when your outside , she died in less than 1 minute as she was wearing only a nightgown. She did exit at the wrong place in the building, she was the only one who use that exit.

They say a few minutes or hours but at -35 , but i doubt that she lasted more than 5 minutes, -35 with no winter clothes at 93 years old , almost impossible.

I guess you needn't even head to the desert if you live in Phoenix, Arizona. 300 people may have died during the hottest month, 110F (43C) for 31 consecutive days.

edited: oops well I guess it is a desert, just people made it a city too.

I went to the desert today. Within an hour, I would have passed out. Yes, the way it seems to work is a final experience that will be my death
Within one hour, I felt my concentration decrease dramatically. I didn't even want water, I was going to fall

I guess it's not like drinking bleach, I can't describe the pain because it's only an hour but I think it's my soul that I want to go out to a safe place

Death within one hour? Not a chance.
