I have used illicit substances in the past but can honestly say while they were fun at the time, nothing good can come from them, same with alcohol.Do you make use of any substance? I live in an area of poverty with others on or below the poverty line. I can attest everyone living here is in the mental healthcare system and drinks or takes illegal drugs, marijuana at the very least (they're pretty open about both subjects and don't feel the common shame for it. In fact it seems to be almost a popularity contest who is worse! Really strange). They see it as completely acceptable to be inebriated every day and didn't grasp the concept of enjoying hobbies sober when I tried to bring it up. Or that it is escapism to live in a haze. I don't judge anyone for it whatsoever - in fact I understand the temptation being poor myself. I am the only person in a 15-20 mile radius that doesn't use except for smoking cigarettes. (I'm describing the sort of area where it is common to see hypodermic needles, liquor bottles and tin foil littering the ground. Full blown ghetto.) Point being, there's definitely a link. I feel sympathy for most. That's a good question. I would like to know how many people in this forum actively do drugs. Apparently there is a link to poverty and mental health and drug abuse. So who knows how many of us try to escape reality from time to time. I'm one of these people. I tried out many different drugs in the past. LSD, Ketamine, MDMA, Weed, you name it. Mostly for experimental purposes, just tried to see if something would help me maybe. But none of these drugs really impressed so I'm pretty clean when it comes to most substances. I also stopped doing tobacco and alcohol completely. But the only drug that really gave me something was cocaine. I know it's a hard drug and it's harmful. But I'm already on the bottom of this whole thing called life, it's not like in can get any worse. So I'm doing some, from time to time. In moderate amounts of course. But it's my thing.
norco, benadryl (v high doses), wine every once in a while, and vaping but that's not really a drug. my mom's abusive (emotionally and verbally, but was physically when i was younger) and i still live with her and have to deal with her every day and i take high doses of benadryl often bc it makes me feel super dissociated.Do you make use of any substance?
