Doubt about partial hang

Today I tried the partial hang but while I was trying I felt that my head was exploding and my lips and part of my mouth hurt, is this normal?

I put the rope under eden apple and the knot behind my head

i always get the head explosion feeling too, i've heard of other people stopping it but haven't seen any strategies to avoid it
