People have the right to take their own life if they're fed up with it. Forcing someone who is mentally distraught to stay and comforting them with lies and false promises is torture. You won't understand until you are in that position yourself, I know I didn't. Sure, a lot of people who survive attempts go on to live normal, happy lives, but this is not the case with everyone. You most likely don't know their situation and you definitely don't know their future. Most likely, them wanting to commit suicide is not selfish, you are.

People are not born equal.

I knew someone who was neurodivergent, abused, short, really unattractive all around, a true social reject. His friends would comfort him with lies, "it'll get better, look at these other people in worse situations who've made it, it'll get better", but it never did. Sure, he'd feel happy once in a blue moon but it never really lasted. He realized the illusion of happiness has just been bread crumbing him to stay. Before he left, he stated that he wished he could've done it sooner, he wished no one was there to stop him. He mentioned being scared before he did it but he also felt at peace. On the contrary, I knew this really privileged guy who seemed to have it all, he too took his own life and stated that he finally felt at peace.

Wouldn't you agree that you don't have to be a world famous artist to live a meaningful, colourful life?
Similarly, It doesn't matter whether or not you're in a pool or in the ocean, you can still drown. Depth is an illusion to those who can't breathe.

Sometimes letting go is more empathetic than forcing them to stay.

people do have the right to take their own life totally agree with that but in some situations it can most definitely be selfish

especially when these people have loved ones i have seen some suicide cases and obviously their loved ones are very much effected but especially their parents they just can never recover from that i have seen mothers refusing to eat and stuff they always question what they could have done better how they could have prevented it even if they couldnt prevent it and the person passing away is finally at peace the pain a parent has to go through when their child choses to take that step its not something you can ever recover from

but i do feel that people do have the right to take their own life like i already said but it is also selfish both things can be true
and i guess its ok to be selfish and to priotise your own wants above others

I fucking agree. I never asked to be born, I was brought to this world against my own will. I've been told that things will get better, but it's been almost 10 years of this bullshit and guess what? Nothing got better, if anything, it got worse.

People who force others to live and prevent S are doing it mostly not because of empathy or them, but want to feel good themselves, like heros.

Yes. Exactly!
Moreover, there are many causes of death. Not just this one. So even if they want one to stay they can still lose them to other circumstances. It all sucks. Doing everything on one's terms might be much better.
