Help Does overnight count as fasting?

For methods that require fasting, does overnight count? Like if you have dinner at 7pm and then don't eat anything until you wake up the next morning at 7am does that count as a 12 hour fast? Or does it only count when you're awake?

Probably a dumb question but I need to implement my method in the morning after partner leaves for work.

Yes. It doesn't matter if you are awake or sleeping. I think it will be easier to fast at night. That way you will be sleeping, and you won't get hungry and be tempted to eat.

Fasting at night doesn't make you more likely to vomit. You already fast every night when you go to sleep. You shouldn't vomit in the morning, unless you have stomach issues and already do anyway.
