Does it help you to read about people who ctb?

Since I have become suicidial I have read about many cases of suicide in the news.
Maybe a 50 or more.
I also feel a certain connection with these people.
They were are now at peace.
They were suffering but now they are free from life and they don't suffer anymore.

I don't actively search for those kind of stories but when they come up on social media I always read them and have a think about what the person could have been like

Actually it does give me a lot of comfort unless they failed and are in horrible shape.

I am only talking about successful suicides.
They also give me comfort.
And another thing they give me is motivation because these people who have successfuly ctb, show me that there is a way out of this horrible life and that it is possible to ctb and escape this life and be free from it and all of it's suffering.

I feel the same way man. Especially those Dignitas videos.

I think seeing stories of others who had the courage to do it and were successful makes it seem more possible and maybe just a bit less scary. It definitely helps me to feel that if they can do it, hopefully I can too.

I like watching Dignitas videos as well because they are using my preferred method. In the past I spent a lot of time reading about failed suicide attempts so I could learn from them and avoid making the same mistakes (e.g. making an attempt when other people are home or stopping by soon, using methods that are not reliably lethal etc.)

Oh yes, yes oh yes. I enjoy reading biographies of famous people who ctb. I like to read news articles about people who ctb. I watch videos of people hanging themselves in order what to expect when I ultimately ctb (God willing). I look at photos of people who have hanged themselves, especially after they have been cut down and had the noose removed from their necks -- it is soothing for me to see that often they have a tranquil countenance in death. It makes me think that they must have found something nice at the moment of their deaths, that the light of God enveloped them and welcomed them home. It inspires me and gives me hope that I also will find that peace if and when I ctb.

I search for. It is always sad when people throw there life away over a stupid mistake, some really have talent, money, good family. Mean while i had some rough years nothing really to live and i strugle to end. Fuck my survival instinct and pain advisory.

If they are under 18 and are known to have been victims of sexual abuse or bullying I feel sad.
Rightly of wrongly, knowing nothing of their circumstances I do feel a connection with adults who commit successfully and I envy them.
I have never seen a Dignitas video but as other members have positively alluded to them, I'll make a point to do so. I'd love to go there from what I have read of it. .

Yes. Because they are in a state of peace, and that makes me feel positive for their experience and then hopeful for myself.

Yes I find it very inspiring. Both about average people and famous people. Fascinated by people like Sylvia Plath who attempted prior to ctb and always seemed to know she'd go out that way/ people who others say "had it all" but chose exit/ people who had a painful life and said "no more of this" and ctb.

In general yes, it gives me more strentgh and confidence and i also feel that sense of connection.

The only exceptions are cases where a very unusual hard yet easy to procure method was used, like Avicii with the glass from bottle, i still feel connection but it makes me feel like a pathetic coward because i know that while i'm so sure of my desire to CTB i'd drink N in a heartbeat if i had it know, i would never be able to cut through my neck with shattered glass !

I feel the same.
I will never understand how someone can bring himself to do that.
Even jumping in front of a train.

The only thing I think I can do is charcoals.

Everthing I do when I'm in the mood of diving into sucide-net is self destructive, so I don't really know: I need to do it though, can not really control it. There's not that much choice behind it.

reading about people who took their life makes me want to kill myself even more … i feel the suffering growing inside of me like if i perceived and absorbed the pain of those people .. it makes me think that everyone suffers and there's no way to stop this because life is a circle and its sense is that we suffer and make others suffer even when we want to save them… it makes me sad that suicide is the only option some of us have as a key to this circle …

I am somewhat jealous of people who can successfully ctb. They've found their peace.
