I already want to ctb, I have really nothing going for me, and the thing that is holding me back is money to get a gun, and God. Some people say that you go to hell if you kill yourself, others say no you go to heaven. But didn't it say God forgave past, present, and future sins, so wouldn't it be forgivable. With so much uncertainty in this topic, I wanna hear your thoughts on this. Please, serious answers.

If you believe in religion... follow your religion...
I'm a Satanist and I believe nothing is after life but if you believe differently then follow your belief.

I don't believe in gods, but I see no reason why they shouldn't forgive suicide if they are as smart as they are depicted. The ones who don't forgive suicide are humans. If you really want an answer for this, it's humans who don't forgive suicide, it's humans who have declared it so, even if a god would exists, humans will twist that gods words to fit their own needs. So no, you won't go to hell if a god really exists. Unless you think your neighbour mike is god or some 50 year old internet mom who is on facebook is god. Then yes, according to those 2 "gods" you will go to hell.

I want you to know that my answer IS serious, it might sound stupid but well, it is as serious and logical as I can put it while keeping it grounded in reality.

I'm catholic and they do have an understanding for mental illness. But regardless they say it's up for God to decide. It's not talked about much to be honest so an individual is probably just giving you their opinion.
Im nervous about it too. I hate being in this position. The whole world just turned on me so fast.

IF God exists, then God is the only entity who can answer this question. Nothing you hear or read was created by God directly... and has been subject to the interpretation of mere mortals. I say this not to insult people with faith... but just to serve as a reminder that unless you believe God has spoken directly to you in some way, then anything else you know about God has come to you filtered through humanity... which by definition would be absolutely flawed and subject to skepticism.

A part of the atheist in me often wonders if perhaps there is a God after all but nobody on Earth has anywhere close to an accurate depiction of who God is or what God wants from us... and everyone might be quite surprised when they finally find out.

Moses, Saul, Jeremiah, Jonah, all were suicidal. If they were punished for something, it wasn't for suicidality. If God really cared, he might do something to ease the pain. But I don't get the feeling that he does. If He brought me here for a purpose, I'd like Him to show it to me, but He doesn't. I continue to suffer every day, I continue to lose sleep over the horrible thing my life has been. I prayed and begged for help, I prayed and begged to die. Nothing. There is nothing. Nobody and nothing out there gives a shit.

I hope this links works, it's to paragraphs 2280 - 2283 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
https://usccb.cld.bz/Catechism-of-the-Catholic-Church2/570/
It says in part:
"We should not despair of the eternal salvation of persons
who have taken their own lives. By ways known to him alone, God
can provide the opportunity for salutary repentance. The Church
prays for persons who have taken their own lives."

The concepts of free will and sin seem to describe my life. I feel like an evil person who destroyed himself through misbehavior. Not a victim. So religious thought appeals to me. And indeed I've gone for it recently. I just couldn't maintain belief. Like I've said: Noah's Ark. The supernatural story these concepts are a part of is just silly.

God/higher beings/spirits must know the suffering we are in and the state of our minds when we kill ourselves. They should be understanding and offer us peaceful passing. I'm more worried about having to see the effects of my passing on my loved ones. It's going to be horrible to hear their cries and judgements and feel their despair. It'll be awful to watch over them as they try to move forward. Gosh it's so fucking hard!!

An infinitely intelligent Creator would certainly know what a mess we have made of life on Earth and would not hold it against us for wanting to pull the ripcord. If humans can figure that one out, then "God" certainly can.

People need to stop caring about what a selfish cruel creator capable of creating such evil and nasty creatures think of you.

Religions were made to make people docile and scared so they could control them more.

And even if a creator really existed - would it make sense for punishing someone for trying to take their own life after they were given one without consent?

I was brainwashed by religion too before - and honestly the illusion does not work on me anymore once I learned a bit of basic history and indulged in common sense.

I think religion itself is just hiding fear of death and SI.

I am agnostic myself, I can't tell if whether God exists of not. Perhaps there are some so-called "high powers", but I believe more in science and common sense.

it doesn't make sense to torture someone for all of eternity because they were in so much pain in their life on earth that they willingly ended it. unless you actually have done some horrible things that you didn't get the consequences of in this life, there is no valid reason to punish you in the afterlife.
