does getting drunk help survival instinct?

If you are struggling with survival insticnt, can you just get really drunk to impair your flight or fight response and thinking?

I have never gotten drunk before, but I hear people say it basically makes everything have no consequences to ur brain. it effects your decision and makes nothing seem like a bad idea


can anyone confirm? I'm thinking getting drunk + full suspension hanging, I just need to accquire alcohol

not fully true methinks. even when i've been blackout drunk, my brain processes everything normally but i'm just sleepy and constantly fent fold

being drunk is different for all, tipsy, drunk, blackout drunk. some people can be reckless when drunk, sleepy, happy, sad, angry and such. i think being drunk can reduce SI but, thats if itd work for u.

It wouldn't work for me. My brain kept processing information even when I was drunk. I don't have data, but it probably doesn't work for most people. It's not so simple to achieve the effect of a barbiturate: sedation, unconsciousness, and death. And even with a barbiturate, if not administered correctly, it may not be peaceful.

Everyone reacts to alcohol differently. It may help some people with SI but others it may not. I am a sentimental drunk, so when I drank before and attempt I just ended up thinking "Y'know what? Life ain't so bad!" and went to bed instead of killing myself.

Something else to be careful with is being impaired while trying to carry out your method. Alcohol slows your reflexes, affects your coordination, and screws with the logical part of your brain, all thinks that can potentially lead to a failed attempt.

Yeah benzos work even better because you have no emotions on them as well.

There are happy drunks, sad drunks, angry drunks, violent drunks, people that puke after two drinks, and people that can tolerate it naturally. People do not all have the same reaction to alcohol.
