I don't want my old medical history to be transferred to a new psych. My old doc made incorrect diagnoses and so I am unable to get ADHD meds that I definitely need.

Can I just go to a new psychiatrist and say it's my first time going? Or will they ask for a transfer of records?

It always depends on which country you are or which health insurance company, normally, you are the first time and behave its The first time, because of the health insurance company, or you pay it directly yourself, as in some countries

(In the US) I've never had a psychiatrist demand to see past records. Doctors have usually believed what I told them, and I provided whatever history I thought would be helpful.

One shitty doctor even refused to look at the detailed records I had brought with me to an appointment, and would ONLY listen to what I said, which sucked because I was having trouble communicating verbally at the time.

Every time a doctor (no matter what specialty he has) is asked for a second opinion from other doctors or simply because the other doctor has stopped practicing... he either gets offended or politely tells you that it is of no use to him... only a psychiatrist read what I brought him (and because it was an official document).

Don't be afraid to go to a new psychiatrist, unless he is a goofball who just passes on everything and just medicate you without properly assessing you, he probably won't ask you for any prior report.

My psychiatrist wants a copy of all my medical records... blood tests, scans, x-rays, reports etc. He has sent me for blood tests and referred me to specialists. He's thorough.

Public doctors here in general have your old medical history available (until they don't and it's usually when you want them to...), private only do if it's the same clinic/group of clinics you visited before. Otherwise, they'll ask you if you had a history before and that's it.
I think you can ask at the clinic you are going to visit if your history will be transfered. You can phrase it as "I'd like to know if you'll have my medical history transfered or if I should bring previous doctors notices printed" or something like this. If they don't transfer it just say it's your first time and that's it.

It might also possible to tell them not to send your medical record to anyone else.
