Such a vague question. Without knowing car make, model, and year no one will be able to give you more information.

Your best bet is reading the handbook or Google "car make model year disable airbag"

You can't. Airbags are mandatory by law. You can't just disable them if you want to.

Every car is different and will differ year to year.

I had a quick Google, it looks like you can only disable passenger side. I think you'd have to remove drivers side ones.

I'm fucking useless with cars I have no clue. It's maybe 10 yrs old. Googling only seems to come up with how you deactivate the passenger one.

Yes that's all I can find, thanks anyway. I guess they aren't going to make it easy are they?

There should be a handbook/manual that came with the car (check the glovebox).

If you're UK This will help you determine the age of the car.

Not sure if this is a solution, but I suppose if you activate the airbag (by crashing your car just enough to trigger the sensor) then you can just remove it afterwards.

Manually, like the others above stated you can (as far as my knowledge of car goes) disable the airbag for the passenger seat. I guess that's not the case, but you can disable it in case you are having in infant with you, for their security. But manually you can't disable your airbag on your seat (the driver seat). Also I've heard that in recent cars they even put airbags on the side, so it's worth checking that as well.

As others mentioned it's not possible for the driver seat unless you manually remove the wheel's cover and that becomes quite technical. So the short answer is no.

There are many videos about it, just don't forget to disconnect the battery first.

Once the airbag is triggered you can't restart the car, the triggering activates some kind of immobiliser. Proof of this had car crash some years ago and airbag deployed, I was expecting a nice soft pillow of cushioning. Felt like I was being hit in the face full force by a football.
Also I wouldn't fuck around with an airbag as many are triggered by using explosive materials eg c-4

Sounds like you are after Sodium Azide, :smiling::smiling: which is used to trigger the air bag mechanism. I hope it's an old car.

Use the car companies diagnostic computer to change settings for tests etc.hopefully do a search and find what fuse control.box connects to sidebar and just remove.fuse. Or just remove the airbag totally like they would with a replacement airbag and just with do not connect it back properly or do what slot of tuners do and just put in a racing steering which doesn't hav the part for.airbag. Then either live with airbag light on dash or buy a small chip that feels the ect that air bag is connecting. There are loads of ways same with seat belt dongles that stop the binging noise if not plugged in to move advanced.methods.obviously I don't think any of there are good idea due to safety and the mess it could make to first responders. The most logical and believable action is a thirst part racing wheel. Or literall unplug the airbag system

I would be hesitant to mess with it if I had know knowledge of cars. You plan on crashing? That's not supper reliable.

Yes I was going to crash after my appointment today with the mental health team. I know it's not reliable. But I literally know a guy who died after crashing into a tree at 30 mph. I had to change my plans after stuff happened to do with my children which is too complicated to go into the detail of. The thing is it's stupid I know it may not kill me and I know I'll end up worse.. but in some ways a method like crashing seems easier to me when it comes to avoiding the sense of SI as it's not a definite death like jumping or taking N so I feel like my mind doesn't get as hesitant about doing it. When I'm driving very fast it's a buzz and I know my state of mind would be in a place where I could just turn the wheel and crash. That will probably make no sense. I wouldn't involve other people or traffic.
I can't OD there's no way. Today I had a small window of opportunity and I wanted to do it and that was what was available. But I have to postpone. But I will do it soon I know.

I totally understand the buzz of driving fast and just wanting to turn the wheel. I get the same all the time, sometimes force myself to take the bus if I'm feeling too reckless. I would never injure anyone else though.

Dear Viola,
I know that you are facing some hard times and you've been dealing with bullying etc. to add to your anguish.
Please don't crash your car. So very much could go wrong, leaving you in a worse place, physically and mentally.
Sometimes, my brain is screaming at me to ctb, and I plan things that have a high probability of failure and more pain.
I can't speak for you, but if that is happening right now. Please.Just. Don't.

Take some time. Talk to people here. Do some more research (I know that you have been here a while, and I am not minimizing your pain and desperation).

Imagine being brain damaged and/or paralyzed. Autos that are new enough to have air bags also have crumple zones, fire walls, and better steering columns.

Sending strength and comfort to get you through whatever you decide.

Thank you I do appreciate that. I guess the only thing I really fear is some sort of brain damage if I survived.. but when I'm in that type of mood I have no rationality at all x

Hiya,

Have you seen this video on SA and SN he say's SA is easy to get and will be hard to restrict, i would take that with a pinch of salt lol, SA is very hard to get as it was advertised terrorists use it to trigger bombs, I couldn't find anywhere to buy it, there was a company in the US but they don't ship to Europe.

This is from 2017 so it may have been easier to buy then but I gave up and decided on the SN method. I was considering going to a car breakers yard and investigating but that would just lead to numerous questions, which I don't want to answer.

Cheers Geo
