Does Anyone Else Have a “Strange” Interest?

Random question, but does anyone else have a fixation or interest that is deemed "socially unacceptable?"

For example, my random and odd interest is the concept of a "yandere." There's just something so fascinating about seeing something typically perceived as pure and good be warped into something twisted and suffocating.

Also, just in case, there's no judging here.

Hm. I guess fiction with taboo subjects sometimes interests me? (Sometimes gore/ abuse etc), but it's like really seldom, and I do prefer more wholesome media most of the time, so I'd say that I don't have any socially unucceptable hobbies (+ it's mostly just me getting into things I would have liked when I was an edgy teenager). Although when it comes to strange hobbies I do like vocal synthesis. It's an instrument that is meant to replicate human singing/ talking. Tbh vocal synthesis is like one of a few things that brings me a bit of happiness right now. I love listening to it, and working with it (although it may be stressful sometimes). And the vast array of characters that represent various voices just makes for a nice distraction for my mind to think of when I want to block out any bad thoughts.

Ive been an occult reader since I was a boy. My father was an antiquarian book dealer and we had one of Crowley's periodicals from the 1910s. I was told in the strictest terms to go nowhere near it.....which I did but understanding the salient themes of the Equinox at 8 was not possible.

I love cringe romance stories like otome games, BL, etc, which aren't uncommon weaknesses for weird shut-in girls like me. Also have a fascination with some unpopular borderline NPC characters who play minor roles in a story, and have pretty much no fanbase. But the absolute worst and most estoeric thing I was afflicted with is cardiophilia (erotic fascination with heartbeats). I have had this my entire life and it's a source of deep shame and embarrassment for me, if I could get rid of it I would even though I now have lots of useless knowledge about the human heart because of it.

Me too! I keep a lot of insects and arachnids as pets. I love my madagascar hissing cockroaches. I have two of them, they are wonderful pets. People need to appreciate these guys more.

If I start talking about what I REALLY like I could end up in jail; my interests are entirely illegal in Italy and considered wrong by most humans. To me, as long as you consider the consequences of your actions, laws are useless and extremely irritating. I have no problems breaking them if the outcome is something I desire, no remorse because I made such choice and objective morality has no value to me, so I don't care if they are considered "socially unacceptable" or illegal by others.
