I live in the city and I hate it here and I feel like most of my mental health problems came from living in the city, but I had no say in it, as in my parents are the ones who raised me up in the city, now I think life would have been better if I was raised up in the country side or something or in a rural area where there are trees everywhere and full of nature stuff instead of the city where it's just buildings everywhere , if I was raised up in the countryside I would have had a simple life, do a small job and no need to worry much about studying ,life would have been simple is what I'm saying basically, but right now there's nothing i can do about it cuz my life was ruined, so is there anyone else who hate where you live right now and/or similar experience?

I live in the UK, where suicide is impossible except by hanging. It's tough & so is life. Life is suffering. But, I still wish you the best in the future, whatever happens.

I don't hate where I live. It could have been way worse. I think my mental health problems would be way worse if I grew up in a worse place.

I absolutely despise where I am. It's a cesspool of close-minded assholes and there is no nature. It has rained for a total of like 8 hours over the course of 3 days this entire year. The summers hit 118 degrees F with ease. It's disgusting and I want to escape

The city I live in (and honestly, most of the surrounding area) is just a pit.

The only hospital in the area is renowned for shitty care, bad communication and having absolutely no resources. If you get sent there with a life threatening illness, you're basically being sent to die, it has one of the highest death rates in the entire country, and its not exactly a large city. As someone who relies on regular healthcare, I've been left with basically no help for almost half of my life. The concept of regular checkups is completely foreign to me, but I think that's the same for most people in the UK.

There's also the poverty, violent crimes in broad daylight in the city center (Most dangerous city in the UK according to some people), the low quality education, and the fact that there's just nothing here in terms of things to do. I should have gotten far away from here when I had the chance. Maybe things could have been better.

This. I have always been drawn to rural, quiet places. I wish I lived in one, by a little river, with just the sounds of water, trees and birds.

I really love the area where I live, just not the people. If I don't ctb soon, then I plan to live in the same state, just a different town so I can start anew.

Yes, I hate living in this body, never mind what surrounds it...

But anyway, I grew up in the countryside and now live in the town, as I have too many bad memories of when I was younger and being stuck in the countryside with nowhere to escape to.

I have lived In the countryside all my life.. was a tree surgeon so iv pretty much spent my whole life in nature. I could never live in a city! it would wreck my mental health, I can understand why you think it's effected your health.. Its just not natural for humans to live that way. You thought about taking a break somewhere? I suppose thats difficult with covid going on

I like living where I can get several stores to deliver my groceries. It's a suburb of a city. It can be noisy at times and noise bothers me a lot. I would prefer a more rural environment.
As for the local health care it is non existent and this is in the usa.

I absolutely abhor the country that I live in, everyone is ridiculously narrow-minded, conservative, and judgemental. There is pretty much no freedom and it's like this place is a hundred years behind socially, not to mention the rampant poverty and disparity between the rich and the poor. I'm genuinely surprised that something along the lines of the French Revolution hasn't happened yet here, many people seem to blame their problems on the rich and the heavy taxes they face.

I like the location of my flat. It's definitely not "pretty" when it comes to landscape or nature (just grey - houses and fields) but it is silent as hell and hardly any cars drive by my windows. That's heaven for me.

Compared to the noisy city I commute to to work ...if I lived closer or inside there I'd definitely ctb faster just because of pollution, noise and light.

I really like where I am living.
I went back to my country 2 years ago and I felt so out of place.
Here is home for me.
I used to dream a lot about how my future years would be

I don't think it ultimately matters that much to me as I rarely leave the room I lock myself in, that goes for everywhere I've ever lived. Although for some reason I think I'd prefer to live in a city.

I don't *hate* where I live but it has its drawbacks on my way of life. It's an extremely conservative community (Trump gets about 65% support in my area) so it can be hard to live as a married, gay man. Also, I had my name dragged through the mud a bit and it makes living in this area even more difficult right now. I was actively looking for new places to live, far away from here, but I've stopped since I've settled on ctb in the next three weeks.
