I was wondering if you guys overthink things too. It's been the case for me since I was 10-11yo ig. An event took place, thar triggered my overthinking habit, and it's been going on since then.

If you're an overthinking person too, did anything trigger this for you?

if it's not related to food, then no, I barely overthink, food although, yes, if i have to eat it, I'll make sure to know the exact calories and macro otherwise not even with a hand down my throat ill swallow it, tbh

Very much so. I at the very least had real event OCD, all of my personal issues stem from overthinking.

I can also point directly to an event which began all of it

Does anyone in your family struggle with OCD? Cus my mom does, also her mom and one of her brothers, if it's clear where I got that from 😅

None I know of, then again I only speak to my parents. Mine seems to be purely reactive

Has this always been the case? Or was it triggered by some event? Cus I'm careful now around food, but that's because I lost so much weight and don't want to gain it back.

I overthink everything though, so it's more like generalized overthinking in my case.

for me it's been always like this, as a kid especially, I was extra picky, I only ate dino nuggets, lol.

yours is definitely worse, and I'm so sorry for that, have you tried some meds for it?

Only in certain cases, I'm not good reading people and I'm already aware of that so I usually spend way too much thinking about how they might see me. Self-conscious about my image I guess is what they'd call it. Think it might've been bullying that triggered it.

I see 🫂

I have ADHD and I take stimulants, them seem to help calm my brain in general, otherwise it's like multiple trains of thoughts that are speeding up in every direction.

I still overthink things though, might be a symptom of my chronic anxiety too.

Do you see yourself as a people pleaser? Cus that can contribute to it too. Bullying definitely contributes to this as well, sorry you went through this 🫂

Thank you, and yes I definitely do see myself as one --or try to I mean. It has varying success though.
