I have a phobia. Coupled with OCD.
I am diagnosed with other illnesses too.

Does anyone here have a phobia of becoming non consensual pornography victim?

Does anyone have a phobia of dropping and losing things?

Does anyone have a phobia of something all over you? Like if you're scared of spiders and feel they are all over you?

Please contact me. I don't know what to do.

I have a phobia of spiders and when I'm particularly stressed I suffer night terrors which are focused around spiders. Basically I'm half awake, half asleep and I see them swarming my pillow, the walls, me, usually I wake up trying to run out the bedroom door in floods of tears. But it really only happens when I'm really stressed out.

I'm scared of spiders. Really scared of them. When I saw a really big one, about 10 cm long, with thick legs and hairs I really nearly shit myself. When I stomped on it after spraying it with a chlorine solution, it felt like the damn thing actually had weight. It was fucking disgusting.

Oh dear I'm almost afraid to admit my secret phobia. I'm not even sure it's a thing.

Here goes...

Cotton wool.

Arrrrhgggg even typing it makes me cringe. Needles? Spiders? Snakes? No problem. Cotton wool? Run for the hills.

Before Christmas I had a tooth extracted. Hefty needle jab and pull the tooth. You know what freaked me out? The cotton wool swab I had to euuuuwww bite on over the wound.

I have this too!! It is actually normally when I'm half asleep and I see spiders on the walls then also quite often I see them floating or flying towards me and then I wake fully up shouting. A psychiatrist told me once it was because I'd smoked too much weed but that's just a pile of crap!! I don't smoke it now and it still happens a lot.

Sorry you experience this as well. It's terrifying, they look and feel so real and you feel almost paralysed and can't move. I don't even smoke anything so deffo isn't the cause, I just put mine down to extreme stress as that's the only time it happens.

It sucks doesn't it? I tried to get over arachnophobia with a psychologist but it did no good. The fact is as a phobia I don't think it is irrational at all, I think they are the most horrifying thing in nature.

At one point of smoking a lot of weed I thought things were crawling on me. That's when most normal people would stop but I still smoke weed and I don't have that anymore

Everyone tells me to hold a tarantula or something and I will get over it, if only it was that simple. I'm so scared of them, if there has been one in my room I won't even sleep in there for days after. Any other bugs though, moths, anything like that I'm fine with. Just spiders I can't tolerate.

Do the spiders sometimes just pop out of existence? Like they're there, but then suddenly disappear. Just wondering because I've experienced something similar.

I'm not scared of spiders one bit. I know it sounds weird but I'm scared of worms especially Nematodes! Also skeletons. I know we all have one, but when I see one ....even if it's a prop I feel like crying! Anacondas fill me with terror and so do Centipedes.

I'm not afraid of any of those, but I'm terrified of Asian beetles (they're like ladybugs, but they're not and they can bite).

I used to be terrified of Tarantula and spiders too. One day I saw this lady on the internet whose pet Tarantula had its own Facebook page. It looked really cute sitting in her hand. I got really curious and started researching Tarantulas. Next day I went to my local pet shop and held my first Tarantula. I was really scared, but did hold him for 2 minutes. I fell in love with this Tarantula! I went home and researched Tarantula for 6 weeks straight. Then went back and bought the Tarantula. I now collect Tarantulas and other bugs. It's a primal fear we have over anything that could bite and envenomate us. It's ok to be scared! There is a saying that helped me get over my fears of spiders and Scorpions...... " beauty lies on the other side of fear" and for me personally, that's true. However be discerning.....some species of spiders are highly venomous to humans, also some scorpions! Don't just handle any old spider! Consult an expert and do your research! A Tarantula would be a good place to start!
Tarantulas are not true spiders! They are Mygolamorphs! True spiders are more primitive! Tarantula are still primitive though. Millions of years old. Prehistoric! True spiders like the Brazil wandering spider are not spiders to be handled in any way, shape or form! So if you want to get over your fear of spiders.....consult an expert in the field and most importantly, do research. I cannot stipulate this enough! I'm not saying hold a Tarantula or anything like that! Only do it if you are ready! I wish you all the best!
P.s forgot add that these Tarantula have saved me from some really dark moments in my life! They saved me!I owe these beautiful animals my life!

Like Spiny Assassin beetles! I think they bite!

I'm scared of bugs in general, I always feel them on me when there's nothing there and sometimes hallucinate them especially if I'm tired.
