I have early periodontal disease due to rarely brushing my teeth but no cavities.

I brush my teeth whenever I go out that day or when I have a bad taste in my mouth. Once my gums started to look whitish and receded a little along with irritations/painfulness. But I managed to reverse this by brushing my teeth more regularly. I don't have any cavities either—I genetically inherited my dad's strong teeth.

No but sometimes I have trouble with an impacted wisdom tooth. I find Corsodyl mouthwash (the original pink one) is really good. Just don't use it too often.

My personal hygiene is good but I live in such a mess.

Because it takes a long time. I have ocd. And I have postnasal drip and cough a lot. It's agony. Brushing and flossing takes me almost an hour

I'll probably get gum disease at some point because I never remember to brush my teeth, and it takes too much energy anyway.

I was reading that 1 in 2 adults have some form of periodontal disease. Dentists make it sound like I'm in a minority to guilt me.

Yep, I have had it most of my life. Even when I am very religious about brushing, my gums are sensitive. In fact, they get irritated if I brush as often as recommended. I'm not sure what to do. Gotta go in for some more work soon as some of the gum around my back teeth are getting red and painful.

I have gingitivis. I just find it hard maintaining the habit of brushing every night. I only usually brush my teeth when I get out of bed. That could be 7 am or 3 pm.
