Discussion Do you feel that your dreams are an alternative world?

Sometimes when I dream I feel that's where I really belong. I have thoughts on what if I dedicated my life to being asleep most of the time? When I dream, I see people kind and happy. I even dream of myself playing a video game normally except without the computer monitor, table, mouse, etc. I only see the actual video game and sounds. I get really disappointed and sad when I wake up even if I have weird dreams. I can not recall specific weird dreams but they usually involve random stuff that feels normal until I recall it.

Honestly kinda. Sometimes I have dreams where everything in my life is solved, other times I'm someone completely different with a different set of memories.

Absolutely. But what irks me is that it seems as though those alternate lives aren't much different than this one.

Which makes me think, damn am I a loser in other realities, too? Am I still in this city, with this same family?

Most of my dreams have some arcing adventure. In all of them, I have some sense of purpose. I think thats why I like them so much
