Also one of my favorite movies, think I must have watched it at least 10 times now. And I don't think they affect me, I'd say they're comforting in a way. They show something that's so avoided in society
I don't enjoy movies in general so no. I probably wouldn't enjoy these movies either since they're made by pro lifers and thus have a lot of pro lifer bias in it
For me it depends on how it's portrayed. If it's portrayed with sympathy and understanding as to why a character did it then I find them pretty comforting. But if they're really pro life and "oh no we need to keep them alive against their will" then I mostly just get kinda upset at them since they're clearly not written by people who know what it feels like to actually want to die, and they push to keep it as a taboo never okay under any circumstances thing.
Butterfly effect is my favourite movie. There are two quite different endings, "director's cut" one being my preferred one.
The protagonist eventually realises that no matter how many jumps to past and alternative realities he makes, the best outcome for everyone is to never have been born and makes one final travel back in time to strangle himself with his own umbilical cord.

To be honest, I've found that movies about suicide tend to lean really hard in the 'this is a tragedy and how could we have prevented this' side and don't try to sympathize with the suicidal or anything that actually makes a statement. I remember enjoying the anime adaption of 'No Longer Human' by Osamu Dazai, but then again that book is basically his suicide note. On another note there's a movie about suicide called cyberbu//y that's so badly done it's funny. There's a part where
the protagonist's suicide attempt is foiled by a child-proof cap on her drugs. I'm not kidding.
so I guess I recommend watching that one if you need something to laugh at for a bit.
