Was just thinking how some people that have managed to ctb- say as an example all the celebrities we have heard about- As these are the suicides we get to hear about more readily- well I don't necessarily think they were suffering anymore than many on here- in particular those that really want to ctb soon- rather than those that just would like the option at a later date - I wonder how did they over come SI - especially as not with the more 'peaceful' method such as N or SN - I can't belive that they had a greater desire to pass than I do now (and perhaps others on here too) - is a more powerful immediate kind of "will power" for want of a better term or do they perhaps have a slightly more impulsive nature that ultimately facilitated in them being able to carry out the act?! I just can't figure it out.

Who knows? What for us seemed like easy peasy impulsive action, for them might have been years long struggle... to finally overcame SI... Celebrities are exceptional good when it comes to acting.

But to answer the general question, i think that every person is different on many levels, and SI should be included in this. So yeah, some people have the ability to just do it without any second thought. Why? Dunno, that's just the way we humans work... Maybe there is something different in our brains, maybe its the IQ level... I for example second guessed myself many many times, and in the end SI always won...

We all have different problems, tolerances and levels of fortitude. Some can never do it. Some make up their mind and get the job done.

yeah i almost feel ive just thought about it for too long now & too often (and tried)-which makes life so much the worst- to be tormented by these-tobe quite frank morbid thoughts -and too be stuck with them-but still living,i feel likeonce you have tried over a certain number of times-its hard for the mind to recover from that darkness :(

I think about someone like Robin Williams who had everything except health. It's so hard to really go though with it. Ive often wonder how he actually got up the courage to do it. Maybe you're right, personality traits my play a role. I also believe that anyone would tap out if the cause of their suffering was unbearable and out of their control.

Apparently one symptom of Lewi Bodies dementia- that he has recently been diagnosed with is impulsive behaviour - so that could be a factor - on top of the fact he knew what that diagnosis could mean for the future combined with existing depression. Must have been too much to bear

The best weapon against SI is probably impulsivity... The most difficult think is to be in this kind of mindset in the right place with the right stuff / method to CTB...`
The more you plan, the less you do i suppose.

Yes of course some people are predisposed to not having strong SI. Just like there are many other traits that people have to varying degrees.

Me personally I get over this very easy by simply having a peaceful method of nitrogen hood kit ready to use once I'm ready to go. That and I will wait until I'm unable to go any further. I literally have no SI around the thought of taking my life. The only reason I'm still here is that I feel I have unfinished business.
