They seemed upset when I had my overdose. But unbeknownst to me my mum found rope in my bag and told dad about it. They never mentioned anything about it to me and just left it in there? I've actually taken it out a few times to practice partial.

Probably. Look some people are monsters, it just happens. Most people though are just flawed, sometimes immeasurably so. Do not mistake flaws for ill intent. Most parents truly do love their children, unconditionally, sometimes to a fault.

I do not know your parents, and cannot begin to understand where they are, but chances are likely they love you in a way you cannot truly understand.

Most people cannot even comprehend suicide as a decision. So a random rope, while maybe unusual, their first though probably did not go to suicide. Even if it did, nobody knows how to touch that subject and fear can often leave them not broaching it all.

They likely care, without question. Flawed people however do not know how to react, or act, or even be supportive.

It's not ill intent but rather poor understanding, and we all suffer from it
