Help DMC essentially ghosting me after purchase

Ordered exactly a week ago through western union, sent him the screenshots, dollar amount etc. Read on WhatsApp, but no response. Kindly asked him if there are any updates/ anything other than silence. got left on read again. Wondering if I should just refund it since he has not accepted the cash yet. I know this payment method requires a bit more time but I haven't gotten a word from him about anything. He's already overcharging like hell, least he could do is give me a simple okay.
Any advice? Should I be more firm and persistent? I respect his time but this is questionable business practice. I don't know of other sources so this is all i got, for now.

if he hasn't taken your money yet after a week, then it's pending. nothing is being taken from your bank account yet so nothing to worry about besides the slow process.

you already know it takes a while. imagine how many other customers he has to deal with who uses that payment method.

his whole store can be considered questionable. he directly sells sodium nitrite to individuals in countries that regulate it by limiting sale to businesses only or has made it illegal, and people who want to kill themselves buy from him.

DMC seems to have a good rep here that I don't think is borne out of scamming. I know when I've messaged him before sometimes it takes 24+ hrs to respond. And he *does* live in a country at war.

lemme be clear from the start, I mean no disrespect. but it's december, which is the busiest time for the post essentially all year, and i'm sure this time of year is spurring more people to order. patience is key. if the money hasn't been pulled without a response I wouldn't worry. i would suggest taking the advice up thread. some people have taken 3 weeks to have it in hand. try to hang in there.

eta keep in mind where this person resides. their country is at literal war.

It took until Dec 1 for my payment to go through.
It shipped Dec 3.
It took some time to leave the country on that end, then got here, and finally got out of customs yesterday.
Is it fast? No. But so far it seems reliable and that's more important to me.
Just my two cents.

totally valid! trust me I completely get your frustration. my guess is he's likely dealing with a lot of orders due to the time of year. many people don't intend to see the new year, which I get. be persistent, but not like blowing him up. I feel confident just based on his reputation here and others I know personally that went through him, if he started ghosting people his business model would tank and he knows what he's got money wise.

I wouldn't worry about this. When I ordered mine I did it through alt payment, but I had to send him a few messages about order confirmation and what not. He didn't respond to me at all, but he did update order status on DMC and sent a me few emails. I think he wants to remain as hands-off with us as possible, probably knows it's better for his health to do that than chat with the suicidal people he's scalping.
