disposing of sn

i know this conflicts with one of my recent threads where i was so excited about my sn arriving. well, put simply i am suddenly feeling better. i'm severely mentally ill and my anger/sadness reactions as well as mood swings are off the fucking charts. (ahaha we love bpd) as of right now, i don't want to kill myself. i have a 4 oz bottle of sn. it's just sitting in the envelope and i haven't opened the bottle. if i were to dispose of it, how would i do that? can i just throw the bottle in the trash? or should i pour it in the toilet? i wouldn't want to breathe it in or get it everywhere. i need a way that my dad won't be able to discover.

Most comments online say to go to a waste facility but disposing it down the toilet/drain seems to be ok too but just make sure you flush it down real good with lots of water.

If you're currently in therapy, you can hand it to your therapist and they will dispose of it. They did that with my first batch of SN.

This was in a chemistry subreddit. I've never used reddit for talking about suicide methods so don't know what it's like there.

You'll be fine to put it in the landfill bin. It's only salt and won't do any harm there I think. Don't put it down the sink. It won't harm you but will probably be lethal to fish etc.

I mean, it's a poison. Doesn't matter if it's "just a salt", it's dangerous all the same. If it can kill humans on ingestion and bacteria on meat, it can cause a lot of havoc on nature if we just flush it down the drain or throw it away. Out of sight, out of mind is always a tempting solution, but please be responsible when you dispose of it.

sn is used for many things, plus it's not an illegal substance. i'm sure they won't ask anything, and if they do then i'll just tell them i was doing an experiment on wood.

Not everyone on this forum is here because they actively want to ctb, this is the recovery section and people are here because that's what they want. It's their SN, if they want to dispose of it, they are allowed to do so and they are also allowed to be on this forum.

Wow. If you dumped your own first batch why be so critical of someone doing the same thing?
Also several posts above mention it is a poison and therefore not a good idea to flush it. If it can kill humans, animals and marine life, it's probably not a good plan to have it floating around in the waterworks.
From your recent posts you seem like you're having a bad day or something @Zorya.

I have been looking at it in my city, and it is not that simple, you have to fill out a document to pay certain fees etc ... I thought it was much simpler than that.

Could you possibly find an email for waste services and ask if there are other options for you to dispose of SN without going through documents and fees? Don't have to use your real email. On reddit, some other user suggested to contact local schools/universities and see if their chemistry department can do anything.

That's a good idea actually. I know in the medical world we used special bins, similar to sharps bins, for hazardous waste... including cytotoxic medications. These were clearly labelled and then sent for incineration or managed appropriately by waste disposal experts.
Personally though I wouldn't go through any of that, I would just tuck it away in the attic or something in case I ever needed it again!!

I can't find a way to contact, I'll keep investigating
