I wanted to share that Dignitas do have a hardship fund for those who otherwise couldn't afford it. Please note that just as its a arduous process to be accepted for assisted suicide with them, and having to provide a lot of evidence and speak with their doctors face to face in Switzerland to get the green light to go ahead, which can take months, evidence of financial hardship and income and expenditure sheets are also required to get the fee reduction.
I had my letter today telling me that my fees have been reduced to 500 CHF which converts to around £423 GBP. This includes all costs including the induction cost, membership fees, preparation costs (including seeing their doctors and counsellors, getting the prescription, admin and staff costs, accommodation etc) and cremation and funeral costs.
Note that any fee reduction would be adjusted according to your own financial circumstances so the price I'm paying will be different to what they might require from you.
This is a massive difference to the on average £7000-£10000 cost of assisted suicide with Dignitas and makes it far more within my reach.
