So I know you should apparently only mix SN with water to avoid unnecessary chemical reactions. But is diet coke similar enough to water? Don't want to deal with a really bad taste.

SN is on the drug interactions link at the bottom of the Resources Compilation. You could go through the ingredients of diet coke and check them against SN.

Like alcohol, soda affects stomach acids and all that good stuff. Not recommended.

Edit: Also, just think about it for a second... SN is super salty. Imagine salty diet Coke. Gross.

Diet Coke is one of my addictions lol so I wish, but unfortunately no. Too acidic. I'm not telling you not to but to be sure there are no complications and for your comfort, gotta muster it up and do the water

I think the carbonation is what would cause problems.

It's hard because I don't know of many beverages that are normally salty. One drink that I can think of is a margarita. I have always thought that the best method might be to make a margarita and line the glass rim with SN instead of regular salt. But I think you would need to have one of those super large glasses to be able to get the necessary quantity of SN onto the rim. Or maybe just do tequila shots - they always ingest salt after each shot - how many times would you need to do this to get the necessary dose?

I think you'd go down from alcohol poisoning long before the SN got you! Plus, there's that whole thing about alcohol interfering with SN absorption...

But seriously, it needs to be ingested quickly to work best. The body actually can naturally fight methemoglobinemia if it happens slowly enough. So you want it absorbed all at once, quickly, so your system is overwhelmed.
