"Death row inmate commits suicide with more than 50 rubber bands around his neck."
Anyone have thoughts on this method? I'm thinking about how i should position my body (kneeling, sitting, laying down) to hinder the oxygenated blood flowing to my brain? Is this any similar to partial hanging? I remember trying awhile back with a few rubber bands, they were all placed above my adam's apple directly below my jaw. I do remember getting lightheaded. Should i also lay facedown on a pillow? I wonder how long it would take for me to CTB, planning on doing it in my room

I've heard of someone doing something similar with a shoelace, it's closer to the night-night method than partial hanging imo. Maybe look up tips for that method. Hope this helps :)

I'll look into the night night method, do you think i would convulse? I'm thinking about trying this method in my closet; don't wanna make too much noise in case my brother is down the hallway

The following is from an awful website. The comments are vulgar and disturbing. But here is footage of someone who succeeded with the night night method via ratchet strap. He loses consciousness quickly and begins to convulse and have agonal breathing.

taking into account that the video was accelerated in some parts, it does not seem to me that he lost consciousness quickly

Be careful. This method can work, but it's quite unreliable, it relies on being able to constrict the carotid arteries so you pass out. If you don't manage to hit the right spot, you could end up strangling yourself for minutes while you get that head-exploding feeling. I don't think there are very many successes with this method. Look up the night-night mega thread

I'm so conflicted at the moment, I was reading a few medical journals of people dying from strangulation via only a few cable ties. Apparently the force needed to strangle when applied to the cartoid arteries is (2kg-10kg) and jugular veins were only a few kgs as opposed to airway obstruction (choking)?

from https://www.reliasmedia.com/articles/148916-strangulation-and-related-injuries

[Venous congestion: Obstruction of cerebral venous return, not airway occlusion, is the main cause of death in most fatal strangulations.15 Only 2 kg of external pressure is required to compress the jugular veins, which lie superficial in the neck.16 Occlusion of venous outflow from the brain results in cerebral congestion and loss of consciousness. The resulting decreased muscle tone ultimately leads to arterial compression and cerebral anoxia.

Arterial obstruction: Depending on the direction that the force is applied, 2-10 kg of external pressure is adequate to obstruct flow through the carotid arteries.16 Complete arterial occlusion of the carotid arteries results in rapid cerebral anoxia and death]

That video was something though, damn. I was planning to use this method in a bathtub for safe measure in some hotel or something.
But at this point, I might as well just look into drowning since i can barely swim.
