Death of a pet

Does anyone else feel like everything hits you all at once?

My pet hamster died today, I feel so empty most days anyway, but one thing that was sort of keeping me going was the thought of who would feed her and look after her if I was gone, know what I mean?

She looked peaceful and stuff but god I miss her already

My condolences :c Rodent pets like rats, mice and hamsters are so short-lived but they make up for it in energy and fuzziness. The world gets emptier when you lose them...

When I was a very young boy I got my first hamster, when I let him out his little box he bit me, I hated him, I then realised he was scared and I had to accept he was in a strange world, we became best of friends, he was pure white so I named him coca cola, hamsters are brilliant...

Yeah... Loss of a pet fucks some people up real bad. Everytime I've lost a pet, I couldn't even eat or get out of bed.

Its the worst feeling. Lost six cats and one dog in my life

When my dog passed a month ago, I literally wanted to die for about a week (for a reason other than my illness). It felt like the world itself changed overnight, for the worse, and everything went dull and gray.

It's still sad, but it's nowhere near as bad as when it first happened. On the bright side, it now means I have one less big reason to stick around.

The loss of a pet is the same to me as the loss of a family member or any loved one. It is devastating.
