It doesn't mean 100% of the people trying die just because the news usually report on deaths, not domestic accidents.

I remember when there was a trend with N2O, every news outlet were saying it was 100% lethal and reported exclusively on deaths. Turned out that yes it was dangerous, and some kids died, but in most cases either nothing happened or they just passed out or ended up in the emergency room and survived, bearing in mind that those who did it multiple times indeed died.

I don't know, i always believed that electrocution was a very efficient way to CTB painlessly, because it's very quick; with enough power it just litteraly zaps a human being. I'm just not enough educated on the matter to setup things in order to end myself; i contemplated touching power lines but was scared to fail for some reason.
I chose another (painless) method in the end 'cause i'm a pussy, but it'll never look like an accident unfortunately.

Being able to CTB with domestic electrical outlet such as microwave/toaster/transformer and being 100% sure i'd die instantly is too good to be true to me but if you got some links/videos/tutorials somewhere i'll take it, cause you've picked my curiosity and interest with this:

There was a thread about this topic a while back. Yes electric current can kill but it's nothing straigghtforeward because the current would have to go through the heart exactly to distrub it that much it stops working. And the way current can take through the body can be so different. There are people who survived even a thunderbolt with severe injuries but did not die from it. Just read about executions on the exlectric chair used in the US, there's a protocol how it is performed and in some cases even after the protocol the convicts are still alive. And that electric current + voltages higher than the one you get out of your elec plug at home.

It works better when you ground yourself (yellow-green cable) and that is a bit of an issue because of the FI circuit breaker in modern elec installations. It detects when there is a certain dangerous current (usually 30mA) between a potential machine and the ground connection (green yellow cable). That one works pretty fast and switched off the whole elec in the flat /house.
