The world is conspiring against me... seriously.
Took me three days to find a Canadian friendly bitcoin wallet that allows for cash and etransfer deposits. Finally got that set up only to find out that it takes 3 days for transfers to be approved... and cash can only be done via card purchase at local vendors during the day. So.. not tonight.

I finally figured out how to navigate the dark net ( I'm old, give me a break ) but it took me two hours to finally be able to get to the market I was looking for. It is constantly saying that the page can't be found, try again later. So... after finally finding the market, registering and finding the vendor I want.... again, page disappears and can't be found - try again later.

Is it always like this ?? Kicking you out before you can actually get anything done ?
Is it just high traffic ?
Any tips for getting this order done, besides a lot more patience than I have tonight ?

dark net is not as stable as clear net.
Always use dark fail as your "bookmarks".
Any given market may change its URL frequently due to frequent attacks.
So go back to dark fail and get the current address.
And if the market seems to go down then go back to dark fail again and check the latest address.
I assume you're using TOR as a minimum precaution ?
Are you buying your bitcoin anonymously ?
If not then you might want to buy XMR (monero) to anonymise, but you'll need to do a bit of research on that, or you can wait a few days (see below)

I wrote a bitcoin guide, but I haven't covered XMR in that. I might add a post to cover that in a few days time... (but no promises)

Here's the current bitcoin guide, but it's probably not really secure enough for dark net use until the XMR notes are added :

I did have to go through dark.fail to get to the market.. and yes the URL changed several times in a few hours.

Just wanted to make sure it was somewhat 'normal' and not just me.

I tried Coinbase... you can't link Canadian bank cards to it, so found one that is based up here.

@jgm63 or @Farmmaa ,
Can you tell us how to navigate the dark net or dark web safely?
I already know how to use Bitcoin , monero etc . I'm in the USA.

But I've never used the dark web.
Do you have to use Tails Linux?

@hejakdgiwbq wrote a good "get started" guide :
https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/a-guide-to-the-dark-net.20257/

Yes, you should ideally use tails.
If you didn't, and you used windows, there's always the possible danger that windows might be logging/recording what you do.
Using tails will lower the risk, but takes a bit of time to figure out.
So you have to weigh up the risks, and decide for yourself.

I would say the bitcoin parts of the dark net guide above are not fully up-to-date.
e.g. Tumbling bitcoins is not considered to be "best practice" these days.

I have a bitcoin guide (see above) that is designed to be easy for beginners, but which is not (in its current state) ideal in terms of security/anonymity.
I plan to improve that within the next few days, by covering how to convert to XMR (monero), and back if needed.

So you could keep an eye out for that over the next few days...

Thanks. I hope you write a dark web guide. Your guides are awesomely great .
Others here will benefit from a Bitcoin guide . I however have a lot of experience using Bitcoin ,xmr, crypto currency but zero experience using the dark web.

I would use tails because it has mail enceyption build in.
Lot of attacks currently on DNM and a lot of big famous markets gone. During the attacks the markets will not work. Difficult situation.
It is really complicated the whole process can take a week or more to set up. Lot's of waiting time to buy more coins. XMR is not traceable bitcoin is but mostley LE will only go for big fish.
Is there N on DNM

"big famous markets gone" -> what are the biggest examples ?

I believe there is a seller of N on the darknet, but such things should be discussed off of these threads.

Yes a lot of the DNM's are under almost constant attack. You just have to deal with it to be honest.

Yes there seems to be a good N vendor on one of them that several of us talked to quite a bit. I almost ordered from him but he ran out of N for a few weeks and A offered me what seemed to be a good deal so I jumped on it. Kind of wishing I waited for the other vendor to get more powder in stock now, but that's another story.

The people that have talked to this vendor are being very cautious about releasing any info about him right now.

I appreciate you carrying on Stan's good work....

But are we going to get into a situation where anyone who claims to know any source for anything is assumed to be a scammer ?

Perhaps that's the correct approach, and it's best to start with that assumption, and let people make their own mind up if they want to take the risk....

However, perhaps a better approach is just to have a standard warning message for things like this.
eg you could post something like : "WARNING TO ALL : THIS MIGHT BE A SCAM, PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION <etc>", along with a link to a checklist of some things to look out for that might indicate higher probability of a scam.
When I get some free time, I might draft up that warning and checklist....

That would be a more productive way of handling these things in my view.....

For this particular case, several people are aware of the same seller I'm referring to, and you'll easily be able to find search results of posts from various other well-established members confirming that.

If you'd like me to send you those results, so you can cross check for yourself then let me know....

Although honestly if you get TOR and a decent VPN and go to Dark.fail and look fora vendor with a ton of reviews he is not that hard to find. He is very responsive also. He is also easy going and doesn't mind having his stuff tested. He sent me a sample of something else and it came in fast and it was real. Wasn't N it was F and it was a tiny amount just for sample. But it was the real deal.

You can also be proud of @BPD_LE keeping up the good fight (see above).
She's very much in the right, but I think we need to find the balance, where people have the possibility of sharing info, but under watchful suspicion, and with people being made aware of the risks ( see my post above where I discuss some ways this could be done )

I'm actually looking for F, not N.
I have the vendor of choice already and am as confident as possible that they are legit, as others here have purchased from them.
There would also be no international or cross border shipping, so the risk of it being intercepted are lower.

I just need this market to work long enough to get it done!
This has nothing to do with anything but your 'I'm old, give me a break' had me laughing and coffee went out my nose. Thank you lol.

Seriously though, who would have ever thought that in our mid 50's we'd ever need to learn how to use bitcoins and darknet for crying out loud !!!

If you're using tor, I don't think you really need a VPN (although people's views on that seem to vary a bit, and I don't know what the definitive "best practice" is).

dark fail is effectively just a set of bookmarks that you should always use, because addresses can frequently change.

"dread" lets you look up products and vendors, and see what markets they sell on....

That should be enough info to get you going I would say.

But you should read that dark net guide discussed above.
It explains how to encrypt name and address so only the vendor can decrypt it.

Note : As always, please note that I strongly encourage you to seek help with whatever is troubling you. With the right help things can improve. There are many sources of help if you look and reach out. Please seek assistance in any and every way possible. You alone must decide upon your actions and take full responsibility for them, and you should always favour seeking help and keeping out of harm's way.

dark fail shows it as down, but if you go to the URL given on dark fail it does seem to be up

But in general things do go up and down a bit on dark net

Everyone seems to favour USB, but I'm not very clued up on this side of it.....

I don't know if my notes below are correct - because having just gone on the Tails website, it looks like they hold your hand through all of it. But you definitely need a USB stick. This is because the computer needs to read it when it is booting up (starting), so by the time you reach your regular operating system it would be too late. It needs to be a bootable USB stick so the computer operating system can read it when booting. I'm guessing Tails will talk us through it....

Tails looks like it has very good instructions - I'm going to give them a try now.

If there is any trouble putting anything on the USB stick - then the instructions below could be helpful, but they might be irrelevant! I used them to install a general Linux operating system on my machine, but think I'm going to use Tails now instead.

Opsec is the hardest part of DWM. It's the main reason I haven't ordered F. I need to just suck it up and do it.

Sorry. Operational security. All the little details to stay anonymous. Like using Tails, the forgetful OS. Or VPN, tor, Monero. There are a lot of things to get right.

security basically
I orderd weed before and it was all good no problem
but LE gets better and they close down markets and info sites
weed i think they not interested in but N maybe
usually the take out the seller, as a buyer with recreational drugs in small amounts no worries, but N might be different.
Use a VPN also
