I never signed the contract.
I woke up screaming in a body
someone else built,
with a name, a passport,
a clock already ticking.
They tell me I'm free,
but every door is locked from the outside.
They tell me I'm lucky,
but I choke on the ticket they shoved in my hand.
They tell me to "choose life,"
but the exits are hidden behind moral paperwork.
I am the victim of an ambush called birth,
a hostage to my own heartbeat.
And still, somehow,
I get up, feed a dog,
and keep my middle finger raised to the sky.
If this is a crime scene,
I'm not the perpetrator.
I'm the evidence that survived
