Getting a gun where I live is quite hard, and shooting oneself seems like a fairly successful and painless method (if im wrong pls lmk)? But gun laws are much more relaxed in other countries, especially the US. Which countries can tourists aquire a gun in? I've been told tourists from countries in the Visa Waiver Program, which would apply to me, are allowed to own and operate guns in the US?

1. Is CTB via gun painless, quick and likely to be successful?
2. Which countries can tourists buy guns in?
- Are citizens of countries in the Visa Waiver Program allowed to buy guns in the US?

EDIT: I looked it up and it seems all you need in the US as a tourist is a hunting license which are laughably easy to get, so ig that answers the question as to which country

Do you need to travel overseas to get to the US? I imagine with all the expenses you have to pay for (this would include traveling, hotel/living arrangement as well as expenses for other supplies like food and whatnot) to do your method, you'd be better off using that money for more comfortable CTB methods (Nitrogen gas, SN, Opioid/Barbiturate overdose etc.).

Death by gunshot to the head can be more difficult to mess up than other physical methods, but you still need a lot of willpower to not only pull the trigger, but to keep your hands steady too so you don't accidentally put the gun in the wrong position and end up with a very slim chance of surviving.

CTB with a shotgun can be extremely effective. Other guns less so, but still pretty effective, as long as you get the aim right and don't flinch. It's possibly to flow your face off by mistake or give yourself a labotomy and survive.

But I didn't think it was possible to get a gun as a visitor. There are at least waiting periods and checks, you might need to stay for a while. The state you go to would make a big difference. It's risky but you might have to resort to the black market.

Personally I'd just choose an easier method at home. SN for example is very reliable and easy to obtain. Very little if any risk. And cheaper.

where do you aim when using a shotgun? is it best to shove it in one's mouth? or maybe point it at one's forehead?

Iirc the important thing is aim centrally towards the back of the head, towards the brain stem which controls vital functions

I don't think I want this way, but I have had that thought a few times before.
I've been to the US a few times, and I did shoot guns there, but it was at a range.
While I was at the range the thought of turning the gun on myself did occur but honestly I think I value doing it on my own terms, in a setting of my choice,
so I'm curious to if it is possible for an early 20's Swede to buy a gun there.

It is also important to me that it succeeds.
I've seen videos, and I know there is a statistically not insignificant minority of people who survive to become crippled.
My assumption would be that the caliber might be too small? Like a 9mm, 556 or shotgun doesn't have a 100% guarantee?
But there's no way I'd survive something like a .50 from an barrett M82 to the head, right?
Is that possible to buy? Money is not a problem and it seems like that would be instant and guaranteed, and I won't wake up with half my face missing?

I wonder the same thing. What are the official requirements to buy a firearm, such as a shotgun? If I travelled to the US as a "tourist", would I be able to acquire a gun through some loophole in the system, or do I have to be a resident/citizen? I have my dream method and location in the US, but I've never been and was born abroad.
Is it really as simple as getting a hunting license? Do I need to live in the US for a certain amount of time? Sorry for the amount of questions... I just dream about this scenario.

I guess what I am trying to ask is if I flew to the US as a "holiday", how can I as a person on vacation acquire a shotgun from a gunstore? Thanks in advance...
