Does anybody suffer with untreated bpd and this is what's pushing u to ctb? I think I can qualify for some treatment through Medicaid although I'm not convinced I'll be able to get consistent enough access because they limit what treatment and how much because it's state funded mental health.

I watched some videos on YouTube about it today and this lady said the treatment is primarily only affordable and accessible to the rich. I watched them discuss that some people can be born highly sensitive or have issues with regulating themselves but they weren't from abusive homes which makes it easier to treat in those cases.

In my case I'd have to deal with the trauma plus the bpd so I'm just like fuck I feel so hopeless. I'm already pretty old and feel like im more bitter about even entering treatment of any kind because once u hit middle age your like fuck my life has basically been destroyed and what's next I'll finally be functional as an old person? Great I needed the help b4 my whole life passed me by not now. Who cares when ure like old and ure getting ready to be a drain on this system anyway lol!

I don't mean to make it sound like because I'm older that I have no value as a human being, or that I think this way of old people. It's just that, well imagine if u had suffered miserably through your youth, and this could have been identified and treated sooner it's tough to feel like u have any future in your older years when the first half has been so wasted and u failed in relationships, family, employment, everything basically.

Hi. i believe that I have it, but I refuse to ever get formally diagnosed..... But yeah...... This shit is horrible, they say that DBT helps many have a full recvoery.... But due to my trauma from last summer.... I can't tell if it is CPTSD or BPD or worse a mix of both.... Regardless.... My life also has been shit. Born to a psycho "Mommie Dearest" type mother... Then Lived in foster care 25 institutions.... I feel like I am OWED a nice CBT.... It's sad. No one helped me in all those homes..... Then left alone at 18 to fend for myself with no support. I sent my time scraping.... a true scavenger..... 22 years later .... no life, no freinds, no job, no community, no god, no nothing..... Empty sexless, loveless marriage with a parter who genuinly cared...... I guess thats all a BPD can get... But I am so happy to think that very soon my chapter in this exsistence will come to an end........ End to the meaninglessness....

I'm not kidding! I was released from a psychiatry institute as an inpatient (with borderline) just a few days after I was diagnosed and was treated whit Elvanse 30mg (can take up to 70mg) with adhd (adhd and borderline are similar). , exaggerated emotions, self harm and trying to kill my self and mood swings were gone. I live in SWE with free care and I can say that DBT is completely a waste of money and time. Try central stimulant against adhd believe me it is worth a try! I'm here today only to read about everyone else's stories and maybe help someone ..
What is a pity, however, is that the symptoms come back when I do not take my medication and after using it for a long time you get side effects (have been on it continuously for almost 3 years). However, it is better than living as I did before medicine (there are several similar meds like concerta and Ritalin, but dexamfetamin is the best). AND NO IT IS REALLY NOT THE CASE THAT YOU DO GET ADDICTED TO THESE MEDS.
What I recommend you to do is find an "open minded" psychiatrist who is willing to try these medications on you without an ADHD diagnosis ( HOWEVER IT is not difficult to fake that you have ADHD)
however, I do have ADHD
by the way, it is really terrible that you live in a society where sick people have to pay for care. Move to Sweden!

Moving to Sweden is a good advice actually :))) albeit not very realistic

DBT just keeps you alive in my opinion. It doesn't solve the problem.

I have BPD. I'm trying to get treated, but there is nothing the NHS have on offer for me. It's the reason I want to CTB.

This is an incorrect statement. For those with ADHD our brains are different hence we are not able to become addicted to Adderall etc. We lack dopamine and these drugs are meant to stimulate dopamine release.

For a non-ADHD brain it is very easy to become addicted as they are getting an overload of dopamine which has a different affect on them. Hence they create people who stay up 3 days to get through exams as well as all the other abuses.

I have some BPD traits but don't meet the full diagnostic criteria... Truth, I think BPD is a bit of a cop out of psychiatry. My mother had florid BPD, and a few close friends have it, and it seems to be a very natural response to prolonged relationship trauma? Like they've made a disorder out of something natural? That's not to say that it's not incredibly debilitating. It is truly one of the most awful experiences to see someone go through, let alone actually live through yourself. But I haven't met a borderline that didn't respond well to love and kindness. I don't think BPD is something that deserves to be demonised like it sometimes is... psych services in Australia treat people with BPD like time-wasters. As if their suffering is somehow less worthy of treatment.

My apologies for the rant - I am a little bit intoxicated. I hope it all makes sense though. This is a topic that bothers me a lot. Too many people die from this disorder, and I'm not even sure that that's an irrational response when services seem so dismissive

I do use stimulant medication for ADD although I'm not convinced I have it. I'm assuming there might be other things going on that cause ADD symptoms.

How can I get over that my EX, my favorite person, my only love don't give me attention no more, maybe hate me. I don't know. It is so fucking painful. Worst pain I ever experienced.

I'm being treated for bpd, but nothing is working currently and that's part of the reason I want to ctb. Main reason is brain fog

Time is the only thing that heals this. Getting outside of yourself, being useful to other people will help u not dwell on him. It really really hurts for some months but will gradually subside. If you are pretty young, it's highly likely u will meet someone else but it's hard to be optimistic when you're heartbroken. Whatever u do don't get intimate with someone new till u have known them at least 3 months. It's a good rule to avoid getting hurt because u didn't really know who u are getting involved with that well. Women are harmed by having many intimate partners but it doesn't impact men the same way. Men can have many partners and not be damaged from it. I mean sure they could get an std but I meant their capacity for pair bonding is not effected like women's.

Thank you for your kind words, but for me it's not that easy to find a new person, I am trans and not sociable at all.

1. It is not possible to measure dopamine levels but it is merely a hypothesis that it increases dopamine.
2. Several antidepressants like bupropion are said to increase dopamine and it is given to people without adhd without being addictive inducing.

have you tried elvanse?:)
it's pretty easy to understand really. Why do so many high successful executives take amphetamine and cocaine? Cocaine makes one confident, make you feel less and in some way makes you "strong". What do people with bpd lack?

Your entire post is moot. The statement was about whether some people can get addicted to amphetamines and the answer is an astounding YES. They do TV shows everyday about housewives addicted to popping pills and college students abusing amphetamines.
