It's kind of ironic, because I'm not much of a drinker of alcohol at all. I never really craved it, but now I'm starting to think it might be one of the best CTB methods out there.

Apparently it doesn't even take a horrendous amount of alcohol, sometimes even just one bottle can do the trick, although it would depend on what exactly is in the bottle.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? I think one of the big risks would be ending up in a coma, but there's probably a way of making sure that doesn't happen. Maybe by just making sure that enough alcohol is consumed quickly.

Anyone who knows me from other threads that I've posted, knows that I'm very big on advocating for all to have access to legal assisted dying, or serious recovery efforts for those who have even a remote chance at recovery.

But I'm also realistic enough to know that not everyone has that chance, and not everyone is patient enough to wait for legal assisted to dying to become available to them. Then there's the option of Pegasos in Switzerland, but of course that requires travel for the vast majority.

So that is why this method has caught my attention, if anybody has any thoughts, wisdom or knowledge on this method, I would be very appreciative! It would be an incredibly simplistic method, and I haven't read too much about it, but everything I've read online says that alcohol poisoning does create a good chance of death.

Everyone uses it to party with, and have a good time, but maybe it can be used for this purpose as well.

There was a thread a while back re Alcohol poisoning via anus, which would seem to both increase absorption and avoid vomiting.
I'd guess that it would be a challenge to be sure enough alcohol was consumed at one go and also keep it down.
If the big challenge is keeping it down, I wonder if there's other things that can be done to help with this. (I'm personally not a big fan of the anus solution, even though it does sound like it would work). Maybe something else to consume along with the alcohol?

There are always suggestions such as drinking Olive Oil & having a large meal beforehand to try to avoid vomiting. The problem with such methods is that, as they absorb the alcohol and slow down its' takeup and metabolisation, they may be self defeating in depressing the functions of the body organs.
I truly just doubt the practicalities of this method. I've known alcoholics who regularly drank on a daily basis until they passed out. None died.

The biggest risk of alcohol is passing out and choking on your own vomit or doing something physical that is dangerous (but unrelated to the drinking) due to lower inhibitions.

I see you write again about Pegasos but did you mail them and receive an answer ? I would be happy if Pegasos was clear about assisted suicide for people with mental illness, but the fact is that they're not when you look at their website. Having big hope with Pegasos to be next very disappointed is maybe not a very good option. Maybe a goog thing to write a post here asking members if they had some experience with Pegasos and see the result ?

That's a great idea. I have a dedicated thread for big Pegasos, so I'll do that on there, thanks for the suggestion!

It's too unreliable. If it was so easy, then alcohol would be banned. Society only warns of death from alcohol because it sees an early death as an event to be avoided at all cost. So naturally they would focus on the possible event they fear the most. Thus, they exaggerate the possibility of death. They don't even warn much about permanent injuries from alcohol poisoning. Death from alcohol poisoning is hard to achieve because once the body passes out from intoxication, it can still perform automatic functions such as emesis in order to save itself.

Alcohol poisoning is a very very bad idea! It poisons your liver & in all probability won't get you where you want to go. Alcohol poisoning usually happens when people are long term alcohol abusers.
You'll probably wake up in hospital or psych ward sick as a dog & hung over.🤮
If you're not used to alcohol you'll vomit waaaaaay before poisoning yourself & liver injury is no joke!🌹💔

Yeah it's not a reliable method. I used to be a full blown alcoholic, at my worst could easily go through two large bottles of spirits and a crate of lager in an evening.
How my liver is still functional is anyone's guess, little fellas a fighter lol 💪

In March, at home I accidentally gave myself an alcohol poisoning for overdrinking wine and tequilla. It felt like my mind and body were intensely spinning and even when laying and closing my eyes I was in an endless roller coaster ride. I was drunkly frightened, I truly felt like I was going to die and threw up three times. Two to three hours flew by incredibly quick, I texted something about hearing my friends voices in my head before passing out on my bed …only to wake up to brew coffee like nothing ever happened. My experience wasn't that awful but I can say fighting against puking would be too difficult

One of J Paul Getty's grandkids, some guy about 25 years old, tried to commit suicide that way in the 1970's, he woke up permanently blind
