Help crossed out nickname

it may be a silly question, but if someone deactivates their account on SS does their name automatically cross out as if they were deceased?

or is it only in the event of death?

Someones name being crossed out does not necessarily mean they have ctb. It just means they are no longer a member of this site. In many cases it is assumed that people have ctb, but many leave this site for other reasons.

Yes, but not immediately. I believe there's a 48 hour waiting period before the self-ban takes full effect (could also be 24 hours, not sure).
