What do you want to happen to your body after death? Cremation, burial, something else?

My father was cremated and sits in a box in my step mother's closet which is sad to me. So I'm curious as to what people's plans are for after death.

I like cremation because it's cheaper for my family when I'm gone. I don't have any place for a burial site. I'm thinking of requesting my ashes be turned into something..... Pottery maybe or I've heard that you can have your ashes added to concrete then put into the ocean to start a mini reef.

I just don't want to be stuck in a box in a closet somewhere!

i'd like to be cremated and have a few select people have the option of having some of my ashes if they would like to.

other than that though i don't care too much i guess. though i suppose that it could possibly be nice if the remainder of my ashes would be scattered out somewhere in nature but it doesn't really matter to me that much as i'll be gone.

Cremation ASAP.
(Toss the ashes where they will not remain with my family or any person.)
No funeral.
No wake.
No obituary.
No announcement.
(No social media tributes from hell, I don't want my name or picture or anything about me gracing the likes of FB, IG, you name it..fuck off.)

Cremation, preferably no funeral. Whatever costs less for my family

I think cremation makes sense, we can't just keep burying people, it just takes up too much space. I would like some of my ashes to be sent to the moon, and some to mars, and some to Jupiter, if possible.

My 1st wish is for my body to go to a university for medical research if they want it, if not then burn it up and toss it to the wind. Having no family, I want to setup a scholarship at a university with any money left over, so I hope I do not have to incur the cost of being burnt to a crisp.

I've already saved and set aside the money to prepay for the arrangements. There is a natural burial area here where you can just be in a meadow, buried in a shroud so you turn into the dust you were meant to. None of the embalming, casket and cement encasement BS. Turn me into a meadow. (also less money)

The other option I'm considering is the cremation, that is even less money. Poor the ashes in a meadow or something. Or, do whatever they want with them. I'll be dead, I wont know or care. Honestly where the ashes are is the least of the concern anymore. They money saved would be donated.

Zero services for either option.

I need to decide soon so I can prepay and have it be taken care of.

If I didn't have the money saved and someone else was paying for it, it would for sure be a cremation unless some stranger wanted to pay for the natural burial.

If I go through with it, id prefer to not have it found, so my family wouldnt know. If only you could ensure pigs or a similar animal would devour the remains completely.

If I was to choose, I'd like to donate all of my usable organs and then have the rest cremated. But it's not up to me, so I'll probably be buried traditionally just to shut up the neighbours. But cremation is not outside of the realm of possibility... It doesn't really matter though. Once the life is snuffed out this body isn't going to be me anymore, it's just going to become a lifeless slab of decomposing meat that doesn't really belong to anyone because no one's there and it wouldn't really matter what people are going to do with it.

I would Like to be buried in the middle of nowhere, a forest or under a tree something. Six feet deep and go back to nature. The half of the family i currently live with are mostly cremated due to us living in a tiny country. The ashes are then locked for DECADES in a small ugly wooden box in a Smelly temple, for relatives to worship , by placin flowers and Burning sticks beside every few months- (Death, birth anniversaries and festivities missed). Sounds Like the same prison living i had rather be set free . Dumping me in a pit doesnt cost propellant and ignition... just a little time of digging

Cremation and then being scattered. I don't like the idea of taking up space in the Earth. Plus at my height with my faux hawk hair I would be pushing the boundaries in terms of fitting in a standard coffin for sure. And if the mortician flattens my hair, I'll only be pissed in the afterlife.

Cremation. I don't see the point of burial, it takes up land space and costs too much.

Of course I will not be alive at that point so it does not matter to me. However I would choose cremation though, I like the sound of it. I want my ashes scattered in an isolated forest. The thought of me not existing anymore brings me so much comfort.

Tree burial

What is a tree pod burial? Tree pod burials involve putting human remains in pods rather than caskets, and burying them so that a tree will grow from the grave rather than a tombstone. ... Tree pods reduce waste while creating life out of death.Jun 30, 2021

Cremation with the ashes scattered in nature sounds better than burial to me, mainly because the bones would take very long to decompose with the latter method.

Having said that, I don't really care what they do with my body after I'm dead. I would be freed from my lifelong imprisonment in this body (and all the suffering that accompanies it) once I die and that is the only thing which matters to me! Others can decide what to do with the lifeless body.

Cremation and scattered somewhere nice. I'm claustrophobic, so I hate the thought of being in a box underground.

Definite cremation. When I think about the aftermath (often) I worry myself that they won't fulfill my wishes and bury me instead and I would be the reason for my family going into financial ruin trying to plan a funeral that I don't even want. another reason, is a fear that there is an afterlife after all and now I'm forced to go through that all because I was buried and not burnt to a crisp. It sounds silly when I think more than 3 second about it. I just don't want thousands wasted a funeral for my sake.

I'd like to do one of the natural ways but not sure what's legal in my state, etc. Family probably won't care and I surely do not want some expensive box to stick in the ground.
