Circumstances at home are messing up my plan. I won't be home alone for a while (family member home with health issue). My method is SN... I'm considering doing it after everyone is asleep, which should work perfectly fine as long as I don't make considerable noise.

I'm not too worried about possible vomiting (and I'll be taking an anti-emetic), but I'm worried about hitting things if I seizure, and perhaps making weird noises while unconscious.

Any thoughts on whether this method could be noisy?

(a) My mom would know I was gone (I have a history of psychosis (=some poor decisions) so she keeps tabs on me anyway)
(b) It's rainy
(c) It's uncomfortable. Bed please.

It will be loud. Remove yourself from any chance of failure or discovery.

Might take you years to earn freedom from a psychiatrist calling mother.

Some time ago I read about someone who was in so much pain from Sodium Nitrite that he called the ambulence. What if you just wake up your family member because you will be in pain or survival instinct kicks in and you panic? You do not know how you will react to nitrite, what you will think, feel and how you will act. I would do it in the woods and would not take any phone with me. It seems too risky to do it at home when someone is in the another room and panic sets in. Just something to consider:).

I appreciate your thoughts. I am worried about making noises if I am in pain.

Okay:). Well I still think you do not know yet what kind of pain it will be, and if you can handle it without running to someone to help you out of that pain if you have that chance. I hope it's not that awful. I do not want to scare without purpose at all, I have sodium nitrite myself, not sure if I'm going to use it yet. But about making noises... depends how far away from your room your family member lives and if she/he has a deep sleep usually. I actually have no idea about noises, sorry. I could guess something, but not sure..

I think the consequences of alerting someone would be too great in this case, and would outweigh my desire to get out of a pain that is likely to last not more than 20 minutes. I mean, if life is hell now, it would really be hell after that, if I survived (and there is a reasonable chance that I would not, even if an ambulance were called). I think my survival instinct is lower than many other people's. I am just over it. Thank you again.

Probably a dumb suggestion, but maybe you could cover your mouth with something?

Another option would obviously be to get really strong pain medication, although I don't know whether that would interfere with the nitrite in any way.

Or stuff cotton balls in my mouth? : )

The pain med is a good suggestion. I don't have any prescription painkillers, so I'll be taking Excedrin, my favorite OTC one. I've thought about interference with the SN but I think that, on balance, it will overwhelm the Excedrin and I'll be better off experiencing less pain.

The members Marystevenson001 and epil recently took SN. They haven't posted since.

Yes, I'd like to know where that idea comes from too. Surely it depends on how you react to pain?

Watch a video of someone hanging, they writhe in pain. Do you think it will be a snow white, drifting off into sleep as your cells are deprived of oxygen? This is basically drowning while dry. If will be like trying to not to blink when a flash grenade goes off in your face.

A person would writhe in pain if they were dying from the closure of their airway by the rope. The ideal is to black out painlessly.

@Lra888 , that's an ideal. Let's not assume the best case scenario. But with the rope around the throat, would they be able to make noise ?

Yeah, i think it's generally a bad idea to CTB when you live with someone. Always should be alone, forest is probably the best location

Do you think this is too noisy for a hotel too? I'm scared of being "saved" and I want to do it this week.
