Especially in the information age where with some intellect it should be relatively easy to establish that life is inherently meaningless.
And that's not even considering the everyday trials and tribulations, schicksalsschläge (blows of fate) and other annoyances of every day life.

Even in a relatively niche forum like this it's pretty difficult to make unique posts.
Another thread on this:

This brings me to the concept of vermödalen.
The fact almost everything you can think of or create has already been done.
Either by humans or artificial intelligence.

The emergence of a huge new useless class is inevitable and only shit loads of LSD and or brain implants will "solve" this problem.

This is too abstract and long-term to make people have a huge behavioural change. Most people have: a job/education/prospects, a partner, no chronic pain, no or very insignificant psychological problems, the will to have children, the will to travel/experience various stupid stuff, no anhedonia, the will to survive and the will to live.

We can not forget that almost everyone outside of this forum (and maybe even large numbers on this very forum) are living in a completely different day-to-day reality from people that are going to kill themselves.

Agreed - and all this leads to Faith.

Faith that eventually all their issues will be resolved. Faith that eventually they will live a better life. Faith that eventually everything will be fine.

I call it Faith, because despite there being no evidence that any of it is true, they'll still believe it and that's why they continue.

What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
