Can someone explain to me the difference between coal and charcoal? I have coal available, but not charcoal. Would burning coal work, or does it have to be charcoal to trigger CO poisoning? Please help, I'm really desperate..

Coal is very old organic stuff dug out of the ground and charcoal is made out of wood.
Charcoal for grilling should be very easily available almost everywhere.

Coal is a mineral that's mined; charcoal is charred wood. Coal shouldn't be used in a barbecue scenario because impurities can poison the food. I don't see anything about it being used in suicides. You can research that as well as I can, I reckon, and I hope you will before trying anything.

Be careful.
