I'm using this method too.
One of the biggest risks is brain damage and blindness if it fails.
I think SN is the prefered method for this community, so CO doesn't get discussed very often.

If I'm not mistaken, genetators will produce a lot of smoke/fumes.
I think you can minimize it by using high octane gas(for sport cars).
The smoke will probably irritate your eyes, so having some goggles might help.

I've asked a lot of questions here about the CO method using a generator. People here are super helpful!

I think it's reasonably common although most people go the barbecue route.

Yeah
I think it also depends on what items are accessible/affordable.
Me, I'm going to use a generator and I also have a CO meter(TPI 707).
I've got goggles and other items that might help.

Unfortunately, I'm waiting for the temperatures to rise up a bit and for the ground to dry up.
I'll be going far away from major cities, so I'm afraid my car might slip.
My ctb spot is a bit strange. The street leads to an unpaved area where I can park my car. The ground is not very flat/even, so I'm afraid it might lead to some issues.

Generators need gasoline in order to operate.

Generators can use gas or propane. Some can use either one.
