Help Cartoid Artery-locating

Does anyone know if the left and right Cartoid artery are normally directly opposite each other in neck or can one be higher or lower? In which case wouldnt two seperate ligatures be needed to compress both at the same time?

They run upwards to your brain either side. You only need one ligature around your neck to compress both.

is it just a really gentle pulse-can just about feel something on one side-but it is faint-and not at all on other- hmmm tricky one!
