Please can anyone help me out of this torture deafening tinnitus its a living hell i am so sorry i just wasnt like this but i cant take it day after day jet plane roaring hammering so damn ill now keep thinking surely it will stop this cant be my fate but my health im terrified now and i was so very well happy healthy how can this even happen its beyond cruel anyone out there can help cant understand it not noise so loud you just cant stand it dont even know why i was so well healthy lovely life had so much to still do i cant function like this but didnt think id get so ill mess with meds that dont even help all have made it louder and louder i cant take it any longer ive tried and tried 3 years like this taken terrible toll i want my life but i cant tolerate this its suffering no one should ever have been good all my life happy soul well nothing i couldnt do please someone help me out of this torture x

I honestly dot know how to all thats stuck in my head is jump and im terrified i dont die would be crippled and still deafening tinnitus how do people manage to get their peace i never knew it was so hard but then never needed to ever life was good just not come id be living happy well loved my life x
This is one for audiology and neurology. Nobody here can help with that even with medical knowledge . We can't know the neurological or anatomical causes, so we can't know what will help.
My heart goes out to you. I imagine this is awful for you. My suggestion is don't be passive about it with doctors. Keep calling, keep going in, and keep making it very clear it's unbearable.

I'd have to look into it again but I think there's something sort of like a hearing aid that is suppose to cut down on the noise.
Have you gotten second or even third opinions? Not all doctors are good, and even if they can't fix the cause they should be offering reducing or numbing solutions. No good doctor would tell you just live with it.

I've had tinnitus for 20 years and I've stopped telling my doctors about it, because every time I bring it up they say there's nothing they can do.
Knock on wood, my tinnitus is nothing like Susan's, but lately it's been worse than normal and it makes me want to scream.
Playing classical music 24/7 in my apartment helps to soothe me to some extent and then at night for sleep I play a white noise machine set to a heavy rainstorm. This helps me, but I totally empathize with Susan and if I had my tinnitus as bad as hers I don't know how I would cope.
The weird thing is I look for cause and effect for my plethora of health problems, and I can see associations with about every single issue that I have with the outlayer being tinnitus. My perception is there's a slight correlation for me with sleep deprivation and stress other than that I just can't figure out anything with the tinnitus.
It's an extremely frustrating condition and my heart goes out to Susan!

I'm so sorry. Tinnitus must be a torture. I read that other users here have this condition and leads them to suicidal thoughts. Health issues suck when we can't do anything to improve.

There is a type of hearing aid that produces a sound that is supposed to drown it out. Not sure how well that works.
Try white noise. You can get a white noise machine I recommend the lectofan as it has tons of customizable sounds from brown to white noise and everything in between plus it gets very loud to help mask tinnitus and train your brain to block it out. You can also get white noise apps on your phone/computer and use a Bluetooth speaker/your phones/computer speakers which would also help alot. You should also look into tinnitus lazer therapy which has helped many others with tinnitus.

I just looked on a website of a doctor I have been reading for 20 years. He's usually ahead of the curve on a lot of things. His name is Joseph Mercola. I just did a search on his website and a lot of things come up . He mentions everything from magnesium supplementation to electromagnetic hypersensitivity. I hope this helps you Susan

The only thing that keeps me from madness is pregabalin. It doesn't help with the symptomes, it just knocks you out. So there's that.
I personally believe that there's a pathogen behind every condition, so antibiotics could be an option.

Susan, there are some of earplugs from Flare Audio, called Calmer, which allegedly have had great results with tinnitus.
Thank you i have them though and they do nothing just trap the noise in and its even louder so had enough of it its not even tinnitus most people seem to get its not deafening roaring hammering i cant hear anything at all but this its driving me out of my mind x

Hi Susan , did you ever look over the doctor's website I mentioned? I realize some people don't like doctors and I understand that , as well as agree with it . Doctors are great for emergencies and not so great at curing . I mentioned him because he always suggests trying to find the cause of a problem and resolve that if possible versus just taking a drug . The drug companies have seen to it that prescriptions are the first thing doctors do now . It seems they don't even care what might have caused the problem any longer. One of the things he talks about , and has for many years, is all of the electromagnetic radiation (EMF) we're constantly enfulfed in. He has an article going in to how this can cause your problem in some people. I know it sounds crazy but here's a link to look over . I have no idea if this is your problem and this is only one approach of course . I'm just curious but when did this start ? If you already posted it I 'm sorry if I missed it. There's actually a town in Arizona outside of Snowflake where people have moved to in order to get away from all the radiation modern tech has brought . Sorry if it's been mentioned before, have you had a ear check up? Might it be an insect, spider?
They can do this type of broad lavage to get any potential insects out.
Have you been on any type of psych meds before? Stopping them abruptly can give tinnitus

I know what it;s like. Thank god mine is not all the time but i once had it continually for 24 hours and it's sheer hell. I highly recommend buying a white noise machine. I got mine on amazon for about 30 punds and it's the best 30 I ever spent. I got the home cube. While you wait for it to come you can also listen to white noise on a laptop or your phone. Go to youtube and type in white noise, there are audio recordings there of up to 6 hours of white noise.
