If they know you are sincerely trying to imrprove and understand your difficulty and your effort is at its best...
You may not be the burden you think. You might even be someone's positive example of how to overcome triggers or an example of having self-awareness. These are not necessarily bad things. They may even be an inspiration.
If you feel you are being a burden, I hope you find some peace, whatever that may be, including distancing yourself from negative people.
