bridge suicide barriers

The bridge in my city has these metal suicide barriers that are metal fence that curve inward at the top. Wondering if anyone has advice on how to climb over them & ctb. Any advice appreciated.

Here is a picture. I don't drive so I think bringing a ladder with me would not be possible. Looks impossible to climb over. I am thinking this is probably not a option for me now.

Why couldn't you climb over that? Are you out of shape? It doesn't look that tall and I think I know that bridge.

If you have a strong upper body you should be able to climb over that. Not sure if the bridge is tall enough though.

If it's the one I think it is,it's likely it really isn't high enough. Should be able to check easily enough

I'm surprised the New River Gorge Bridge doesn't have barriers. Gotta hurry or they will probably have them put up at some point.

They put suicide fences on the George Washington Bridge in New York/New Jersey last year after a number of people who've jumped

Agreed. That's my plan if I ever do it, since I only live about an hour and a half or so from the bridge.

There was one more person from WV that I talked to but she hasn't been on in awhile. WV has one of the highest depression rates in America.

Yeah, I'm not surprised. It sucks here. My best friend almost killed herself 2 years ago and most of my friends have some form of either depression, anxiety, or both, and I don't think I've gone one day at my high school without hearing one kid complain about wanting to die and being serious. Even my sister, who is literally 11 years old, is a depressed mess. One of her friends cuts and she knows someone her age that killed themselves recently. It's a whole mess here, huh.

Oh, also a girl one of my friends was close with hung herself last year. That was interesting because I got to see how my high school handled suicide, and I'm not really disappointed, but I'm also not happy with it. They waited a few days and made an announcement and had a moment of silence and then collected cards for the family. Kind of anticlimactic. I just hope that poor girl is at peace now. Her mom and friends were a wreck.

Someone jumped over the suicide barrier on top of the Empire State Building a few years ago. Evidently he got a running start and pulled himself over. This was on the tourist observation deck so there were many people around including security. Surprised he made it.
