Method Bridge into water?

Ok not to be stupid, would jumping off a bridge into water be a kinda fool proof way to die? I mean, unless you get caught and saved before you can die you'd fall then probably be unable to save yourself if you survive the fall into the water. Would that be incredibly painful though, if you survive the fall into the water? Idk, I havent thought to much about it, but it might be something I consider.

Depends how high the bridge is and even then a small percentage may survive.
